Object: The Alt.Atheism List - Mirror It!
Hey everyone,
In order to have this list all over the internet, so more and more people
can pray for atheists, you may mirror it if you wish. Link:
http://jcsm.org/1on1/AltAtheismAtheistAgnosticList.htm
For those that don't know, this is a list of 2100 atheists and agnostics.
Christians regularly pray for them by name. Here is one of the mirrored
sites: http://www.votic.org/jcsm/AltAtheismAtheistAgnosticList.htm
God bless and keep praying!
Sincerely,
Jason Gastrich

Hi Bro,

What is the HTML 4.0 language for mirroring a site, and is it in the
header or the body?

God bless

Hey brotha Davey,

It's not essential for the page to work, but it is in the header.
It's just saying that it's optimized for HTML 4.0 and above. It
helps old machines figure out the page.

God bless,
Jason

Sorry, I meant what tag do I write in a page to make it mirror
another page?

The easiest way is probably to right click the page, View Source, then

copy

and paste everything.

Not that it matters, but you're redistributing stolen property. Why do

I took it from the source, not from Jason, and I only used part of the data,
and some of the data used is reworked by me. It has a new appearance and a
new purpose, and it seems reasonable to offer it to believers to pray for
people who don't believe and are advanced in years.
People placing their names on a publicly available list are inviting people
to think about them, and you cannot exclude a section of the population from
thinking about them in the way they think about people - namely by praying
for them.
Why is that not okay, if there's no God anyway?

It's still stolen property.

You don't have the right to copy the list. You've been asked not to do

do not matter to you. You're a fine example of a Christian.

Why is that not okay, if there's no God anyway?

Would you think it's OK if we copy parts of your website and publish
them for our own purposes?

In light of that, I think it's likely your use would fall within the
bounds of "fair use," although I think the objections of the owner and
mainter of the list, not to mention several people on the list, ought
to have some bearing on the issue. I was under the impression you were
replicating Jason's website.

People placing their names on a publicly available list are inviting

people

to think about them, and you cannot exclude a section of the

population from

thinking about them in the way they think about people - namely by

praying

for them.

Heck, you should reproduce the phone book, then; there are a whole lot
of names in there. I wonder if that's copyrighted?

Why is that not okay, if there's no God anyway?

Ah, the crux of the matter. Atheists, because they don't believe in
any deities, must therefore by definition think it's okay to do all
sorts of reprehensible, egregious things. Unfortunately, "atheism" and
"immorallity" are not synonyms, and in my experience such an argument
is almost always an effort divert attention from the theist's
inexcusable behavior. Stealing, like many other things society frowns
upon, is wrong because of the negative effects on society, not because
some fairy tale says so.

You're being disingenuous. And quite on purpose. Redistribution of
published material is not the same thing as "thinking about people."

I use Excel. I do all the sorting and processing in Excel and then I add
columns in order to add the table data tags between the data items. I then
fill them in by dragging, and put the tagged up info by cut and paste into
my basic template, which is in windows notepad. It works faultlessly. Then I
added some introductory text and the whole thing took about half an hour
from start to finish.

Gentlemen, might I suggest that we take up a collection
for some vaseline for the two of you, and then you get
a room?

Yawn.

You know, I do love the spectacle of you and Gastrich displaying
your hypocrisy in a public forum. You two are damaging your
religion better than any of us could.

That's true, and I see Davey is in a snit. Well, that's normal when
one such as he is confronted with the idea that his middle-aged,
self-hating and alternatively prideful commentary masked a potential
latent homosexuality, and that his public defenses of Jason (even though
he told David he would quit doing that on March 1st, as has already been
pointed out) are not motivated quite by what he thinks. I've seen it
before. I could be wrong, of course, but such a frail psyche can collapse
at any time.

Hi Bro,

What is the HTML 4.0 language for mirroring a site, and is it

Hey brotha Davey,

It's not essential for the page to work, but it is in the
header. It's just saying that it's optimized for HTML 4.0 and
above. It helps old machines figure out the page.

I use Excel. I do all the sorting and processing in Excel and then I
add columns in order to add the table data tags between the data

works faultlessly. Then I added some introductory text and the whole
