The Bible vs Indifference To God's Calling. 12-15-2006. |
Matthew 11: 16-19.
Jesus' Testimony To John.
"To what shall I compare to this generation? It is like children who
sit in marketplaces and call to one another, 'We played the flute for
you, but you did not dance, we sang a dirge but you did not mourn.'
For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they said, 'He is
possessed by a demon.' The Son of Man came eating and drinking and
they said, 'Look, he is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax
collectors and sinners.' But wisdom is vindicated by her works."

Uh huh. Christ's "wisdom' got him nailed to a couple

how wise you are, padre.

Heh, heh. But he did it to save you and me from his monstrous Dad's
wrath! Even if the fool was deluded, I guess we should appreciate the
thought.

And Little Red Riding Hood saved us from the wolf's wrath, so we
should be just as grateful to her.

Matthew 11: 16-19.
This passage is about rejection, not indifference.

Cut him some slack. You actually expect a Christian to know the
Bible?

side."

Jesus' Testimony To John.
There is no testimony here. This is actually Christ
whining, much like the whine in the subject line. Christ
is complaining because people will not listen to a
madman (John) or a clown (Christ). He then goes on to
condemn them to hell, and washes his hands of the matter
by declaring it to be the wisdom and will of his god.
And in a final fit of spite he says that " ... my yoke
is easy, and my burden is light".
That's some deity you got there, padre.
