The Bible vs The Spiritually Deaf. 6-16-2006. |
Psalm 27: 7-9, 13-14.
Trust In God.
Hear my voice, Lord, when I call;
have mercy on me and answer me.
"Come," says my heart, "seek God's face";
your face, Lord, do I seek!
Do not hide your face from me;
do not repel your servant in anger.
You are my help; do not cast me off;
do not forsake me, God my savior!
But I believe I shall enjoy the Lord's goodness
in the land of the living.
Wait for the Lord, take courage;
be stouthearted, wait for the Lord!

Are we quoting a hurricane Katrina victim shortly before drowing to death,
here? Oh ... the Psalms. Sorry.
"Come," says my heart, "seek God's face";
your face, Lord, do I seek!
Do not hide your face from me;
do not repel your servant in anger.
You are my help; do not cast me off;
do not forsake me, God my savior!
And what did 'God' say 'back' in return? What's that you say? Nothing? Do
you mean 'Nothing' nothing? Not so much as a word? You're kidding! Is he
deaf or something? Try him again!
Put some oooomph in it this time! What? Nothing still? Well maybe he's not
at home. Or maybe he doesn't exist, you yo-yo!
But I believe I shall enjoy the Lord's goodness
in the land of the living.
I'm sure they're just a lovin' the 'Lord's goodness' up a storm in Darfur at
the moment.
Wait for the Lord, take courage;
be stouthearted, wait for the Lord!
'God', the 'mortal on earth rendition', is busy with other stouthearted
believers at the present time. Please stay on the line and his Godness will
answer your request to get his Godness off his holy butt and reveal himself
to mankind, 'pronto' in the order your request was received. ... Due to an
extremely high volume in calls, your wait may be centuries longer than
usual. His Godness suggests that you visit his Godness at his website ...
Ooops! ... he doesn't have one. Please stay on the line. Your request for
his Godness to make a personal appearance will be addressed after the
billions of other calls placed before you for this silly request are
answered. Thank you for your patience. ...... ..... ......... ..... For
those of you who are spiritually deaf .... press '1' to hear his Godness
speak to you in Spanish and ask *why* you can't spiritually hear his
Godness. Are you deaf or something? <click!>
Oh well. Whataya gonna do?
