1 John 4: 7-10.
God's Love And Christian Life.
Beloved, let us love one another, because love is of God; everyone who
loves is begotten by God and knows God. Whoever is without love does
not know God, for God is love. In this way the love of God was
revealed to us: God sent his only Son into the world so that we might
have life through him. In this is love: not that we have loved God,
but that he loved us and sent his Son as expiation for our sins.

You know what? I'll bet that's *exactly* what a whole lot of pregnant women
and children were thinking just as they were 'going down' for the last time
during 'Noah's Flood'. (The babies were just flabbergasted and didn't know
*what* to think.) I know, I know, 'God' works in mysterious ways and he
really did love his 'children' before he sent them to the bottom of 'Davy
Jone's Locker'. We mortals just don't get (or appreciate) what a 'loving'
act that flood was, right? (You *do* believe that Noah's Flood was an actual
historical event, don't you?)

I beg to differ with you I 'love' and have 'loved'. And I know you're not
going to believe this, but I certainly do not 'know' God, and never really
have? Could that be because he lives *only* in the minds of *certain*
people?
In this way the love of God was
revealed to us: God sent his only Son into the world so that we might
have life through him.
*Only* son? What about that creature who is (ashamedly?) called the 'Holy
Spirit'? Who, and what, is he/it, exactly? And what about that biblical
character named Melchizedek? The bible says he was, 'without father or
mother or genealogy' and with 'neither beginning of days nor end of life,
but resembling the Son of God.' Huh? Where in the hell did *he* come from,
pray tell? Was he Jesus' supernatural brother?
[To tell the truth, writing this kind of stuff pains me. But damn you
people, you deserve this kind of stuff because you absolutely *refuse* to
look at contrary proof of the existence of 'God' objectively, and
persistently insist that your beliefs are 100% true. Worse yet, you
shamelessly go and indoctrinate helpless and defenseless children with your
drivel -- and they grow up to be like you! Would you people just grow up and
face life on life's terms? Constantly asserting that there is some Jesus/God
looking out for you and caring the crap out of you doesn't make it *true*!
In this is love: not that we have loved God,

There is no mention of "preaching the gospel" in the above passage. So
once again we see that the consequences of not preaching the gospel
are ...... zip.
