The Liars For God say this on religious TV, together with other
paranoid falsehoods like the ACLU trying to destroy Christianity. It
keeps the financial pledges rolling in, and the gullible are too
stupid to see through it, and also repeat it to everybody else.

The PAX channel airs a show called "Faith under fire" all the time. I
don't watch it, but you know by the title what it is about. And it is
a regular program, so they must have all sort of (imaginary) complaints
about their "faith" being attacked.

I'd like to know how 10% of the population with almost no political
power can 'persecute' the other 90% which has plenty of power.

I'm reminded of the bar fight scene in "Lest Darkness Fall" where the
Orthodox fighter complained of how the Orthodox were being persecuted
because they were not permitted to persecute the Arians.

I don't remember that scene. :\ It's been a long long time since I
last read the book. It's one heck of a good book.
