Object: The Evolution of the TV Set
The television came into use when conditions in the civilized world finally
made electronic communications a possibility. It began long ago on a
deserted tropical island. Violent volcanic activity due to tectonic plate
movement crystallized sand into glass in the shape of a cathode-ray tube.
This tube fell into a phosphorescent "soup" com posed of the remains of
millions of ancient fireflies, and the oozing liquid coated the glass.Though
natural erosion eventually wore away the outside phosphor coating. the
inside coating dried and remained. Later,a random lightning strike placed
two lumps of iron at each end of the tube. These lumps became magnetized,
one positively and one negatively, by the heat dissipation of the ancient
cooling Earth, and simultaneously began to function as an anode and a
cathode, collecting and repelling electrons. Random oxidation-reduction
reactions driven by intense heat from a thermal vent separated and refined
sufficient copper from available ore to shapeseveralstrandsofwire, whichwere
belched ashore by an underwater earthquake and subsequent tidal wave.
Hurricane-force winds attached these wires to the magnets in the glass tube
in the exact required position. Suction from these same winds produced a
vacuum in the tube, which was sealed in by cork insulators blown into place
from destroyed trees. Finally, a burst of ultraviolet radiation from an
uncom monly intense solar flare energized the two electrodes, and they began
to fire electrons at the phosphor coating at the precise angle that would
cause it to glow. The very first op erational cathode-ray tube was now a
reality. Asallthiswastakingplace, overthesame lengthytime period the same
reconfiguring forces had shaped the less complex components of tubes;
circuit boards, dials, and wood cabinetry.Theselayscatteredalloverthe
islandwhere the cathode ray tube layglowing. The light and the other
strange-looking objects attracted the curious monkeys on the island, and they
began to randomly manipulate the pieces.
As luck would have it, the primates somehow managed to assemble the
components, and before they could disassemble them, a man walking the
deserted island found the device and named it the "tele-vision." This man
was an entrepreneurial sort who realized its potential to display specified
electronic signals, perhaps for profit. He brought the "TV" back to
civilization, where he applied for and was granted a patent. Now it has been
many years since that first simple glowing cathode-ray tube was discovered,
and through serendipitous results of the random actions of bungling
repairmen, it has evolved into such sophisticated devices as plasma screens
and HDTV. However, much of the original accidental technology is still being
duplicated, and even the name "television" is still used today. Electronic
engineers around the world still marvel at the luck of the original patent
owner. This is because no similar "pre-television" components have ever been
found anywhere else on Earth, either nonfunctional or near -functional,
which could corroborate the bizarre tale told by the man who once walked
that tropical-island. Also, attempts to piece together the natural processes
thought to have taken place, and then recreate them under tightly controlled
simulated conditions, have met with unsatisfactory results. And yet faith in
the truth of the process causes the work to go on .
Well-there you have it. The product has changed from cell to television, but
the reliance on potentially lucky processes is basically thesame. Perhapsthe
onlyotherdifferenceis thatthevocabularyinthe TVscenario isn't asintimidating
and doesn't produce the hoodwinking element of mystery due to the
unfamiliar. (Reclaiming Science from Darwinism; Kenneth Poppe)

I have had many years of experiencing and considering such, fool. You do
not know my history. Why do you think I live in the desert? I was a
mountain man living in the Rockies for 13 years with my horse and two dogs,
wading in waste deep snow to get to my camp site. So I am well aware of
what you idely speak. But I here declare that I pose no threat against
anyone, but reserve the right to defend myself and if a man gets in my face
and insults me to my face and provokes me, then I may not be able to
restrain giving him the lesson his mommy never cared enough to give him.
The wicked flee when no one pursueth, and I do not pursue, but take up the
pen, for the pen is mightier than the sword in the defense of the holy
gospel as revealed to me from heaven. Again I pose no threat to any
individual nor do I advocate opposition to any government, only that the
people repent and obey God as he gives counsel through his anointed son.
20 And there began to be men inspired from heaven and sent forth, standing
among the people in all the land, preaching and testifying boldly of the
sins and iniquities of the people, and testifying unto them concerning the
redemption which the Lord would make for his people, or in other words, the
resurrection of Christ; and they did testify boldly of his death and
sufferings.
21 Now there were many of the people who were exceedingly angry because of
those who testified of these things; and those who were angry were chiefly
the chief judges, and they who had been high priests and lawyers; yea, all
those who were lawyers were angry with those who testified of these things.
22 Now there was no lawyer nor judge nor high priest that could have power
to condemn any one to death save their condemnation was signed by the
governor of the land.
23 Now there were many of those who testified of the things pertaining to
Christ who testified boldly, who were taken and put to death secretly by the
judges, that the knowledge of their death came not unto the governor of the
land until after their death.
24 Now behold, this was contrary to the laws of the land, that any man
should be put to death except they had power from the governor of the land--
25 Therefore a complaint came up unto the land of Zarahemla, to the
governor of the land, against these judges who had condemned the prophets of
the Lord unto death, not according to the law.
(3 Ne 6:20-25)
1 THE wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a
lion.

I know that this newsgroup's topic is atheism but since you and your kind
continue to bash religion I think it is fair to address this topic . There
are many religions that are man made like Buddhism, Islam, and Christianity.
To most their religion is cultural to them, they believe in the religion
they were raised in. They are traditionated to believe in a certain
religion. However having been provided undisputable evidence by the Holy
Spirit, I know God has a single Priesthood government called the Melchisedec
Priesthood as real as the US
Congress by which He governs mankind that is not man made free from control
of man kind. The Gospel of Jesus Christ as taught properly is the true
religion of the heavens. If you read the scriptures it talks about Jesus
being ordained after the order of Melchizedek.
20 Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest
for ever after the order of Melchisedec.
Hebrews 6
8 Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he
suffered;
9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all
them that obey him;
10 Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec.
Hebrews 5
4 The LORD hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after
the order of Melchizedek.
Psalms 110
57 And are priests of the Most High, after the order of Melchizedek, which
was after the order of Enoch, which was after the order of the Only Begotten
Son.
Doctrine and Covenants 76
The current state of Christianity is man made as it is divided into
different sects like Protestant, Baptist, Methodist, Catholic, etc., each
having their own interpretation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. They do not
get revelations from God. Joseph Smith said without revelations we can know
nothing of God. These Christian sectarians deny that God gives revelations
as He did anciently like in the days of ancient Israel but that is a lie. It
does not say in the scriptures that God would stop giving revelations. These
churches have no Priesthood authority. They are counterfeits. God would not
allow a situation of chaos where there are multi denominational churches all
teaching different things of the Gospel. The Priesthood that was taken from
mankind following the death of Jesus and His Apostles was restored through
Joseph Smith but the modern Mormon Church has committed apostasy by giving
blacks the Priesthood and the Lord has taken the keys of the Priesthood away
from them too and gave it to Art Bulla who was an Apostle of the Church at
the time. Art received his first written revelations in 1979. It is through
him the Lord is going to gather Zion, the Kingdom of God. The Spirit has
testified that this is true.
15 Behold, I say unto you, the redemption of Zion must needs come by power;
16 Therefore, I will raise up unto my people a man, who shall lead them like
as Moses led the children of Israel.
17 For ye are the children of Israel, and of the seed of Abraham, and ye
must needs be bled out of bondage by power, and with a stretched-out arm.
18 And as your fathers were led at the first, even so shall the redemption
of Zion be.

A man can look around the perfect order of his environment, the way the sun
comes and goes down, the rotation of the planets, all the animals, etc, and
should have an intuitive faith that we are not alone that there is a
Creator, a whisper from our conscience. This is faith. We always use faith
in our daily lives. When you get on an airplane or drive your car, you have
blind faith that an accident won't happen. A farmer plants his seed and has
faith it will bear fruit. Of course you notice people using God in an
expression like "Oh, God" or " Jesus Christ!" in different situations. Yes
people feel God within their hearts and mind, it comes from an inner faith
whether they want to acknowledge it or not. So how do you communicate with
God directly to know for absolute 100% certainty. You have to pray and the
Lord will give you the Holy Spirit as described in the Bible just like He
did when I prayed back in October of '99. I will never forget it. As I felt
the Spirit coursing through my body and my tongue loosened, I marveled.
Another time, if not the same day or I forget the very next day I prayed
until I was so filled with the Spirit, being so consumed with it, I thought
an angel was going to appear in front of me.

A man can look around the perfect order of his environment, the way the sun
comes and goes down, the rotation of the planets, all the animals, etc, and
should have an intuitive faith that we are not alone that there is a
Creator, a whisper from our conscience.

You were asked for undisputable evidence, and all you came up with was
subjective incredulity that is infinitely disputable.
When I look at the the stars and planets, and I do, and the animals,
and I do, I become more sure there is no God each time I look, and I
too am overwhelmed by the vast indifferent beauty of the universe we
live in. Religion does not have a patent on awe. In fact, I'd go so
far as to say you're missing out on the beauty of nature because
you're imposing human conceits on to everything, and not seeing
anything for what it really is.

This is faith.

That is religious faith. Consult a dictionary to see the many usages
of the word faith.

We always use faith
in our daily lives. When you get on an airplane or drive your car, you have
blind faith that an accident won't happen.

That is not religious faith, it is totally different.

A farmer plants his seed and has
faith it will bear fruit.

That is not religious faith, it is totally different.

Of course you notice people using God in an
expression like "Oh, God" or " Jesus Christ!" in different situations. Yes
people feel God within their hearts and mind, it comes from an inner faith

What about people who don't use those expressions? And what about
people who use those expressions as curse words? When I say "Jesus
Fucking Christ" does that mean I am feeling God within my heart?
Hardly.

whether they want to acknowledge it or not.

I'd try to straighten out my own mind instead of trying to guess what
rational people are thinking if I were you.

So, your loosened tongue is indisputable evidence for a universal
creator? You sure have low standards for belief.

Another time, if not the same day or I forget the very next day I prayed
until I was so filled with the Spirit, being so consumed with it, I thought
an angel was going to appear in front of me.-

Well, he didn't, did he?
I can't believe you're offering up a sensation that you once felt like
you were going to see an angel (but you didn't) as indisputable
evidence for God. Amazing. I mean, amazing that you can't see how LAME
that is.
Do you vote?

should have an intuitive faith that we are not alone that there is a
Creator, a whisper from our conscience. This is faith.

That is called, " I don't know the real explanation of why things are the way
they are so I will just assume that some supernatural being did it."
In fact, there is no such thing as perfect, it's a matter of humans applying
their esthetics to what is. And it's certainly far from perfection considering
that every 35 million years or so there is a whopper of an asteroid that kills
9/10th of the life on this planet. :-)

We always use faith in our daily lives. When you get on an airplane or drive your car, you have
blind faith that an accident won't happen.

No, you shouldn't have blind faith because accidents do happen. However, it is
certainly reasonable to expect a safe journey when statistics indicated that air
and road travel are fairly safe.

A farmer plants his seed and has
faith it will bear fruit.

Or I release a ball and have faith it will fall to the ground. Wow neat stuff
this "faith."

Of course you notice people using God in an
expression like "Oh, God" or " Jesus Christ!" in different situations. Yes
people feel God within their hearts and mind, it comes from an inner faith
whether they want to acknowledge it or not.

No. Plenty of people, including myself use the word "god" or "jesus" in
expressions because they are part of the colloquial. In fact, religious people
shun using these words in this fashion.

So how do you communicate with

I think you should take up windsurfing. I get pretty much the feeling you
described when I am out there on my board, leaning back against the pull of my
sail, planing across the surface of the water like a skipping stone. I feel sad
for you that you have not experienced this sensation since 1999. During the
windy season I get it at least once a week.

A man can look around the perfect order of his environment

And discover there is damned little order visible at all. The universe as
a whole is massively disordered, with a few random pockets of apparent
order tossed in here and there - yet even those are driven by massive
*increases* in disorder, meaning the net order is not merely nearly zero,
it is steadily decreasing.

, the way the sun comes and goes down, the rotation of the planets

Umm... you're counting the same thing twice there; the sun "comes up"
*because* the planet rotates. This is about like seeing you have five
pennies, each worth a cent, noting they total five cents and thus
concluding you actually have ten cents - the five cent total and the five
one-cent coins. It's muddle-headedness at its worst.

, all the animals,

Many of which merrily tear each other to shreds on a regular basis, hardly
what one would call ordered. The ones that don't - or do, but are
somewhere other than the top of the food chain - also tend to produce more
offspring than are actually necessary for survival of the species...
because many of those offspring will be killed or eaten before maturing
and reproducing. Again, hardly ordered.

etc, and should have an intuitive faith that we are not alone

So the rampant chaos we see around us is supposed to tell us we're not
alone? Hardly a compelling argument so far.

is a Creator, a whisper from our conscience. This is faith.

Correct - faith. You were asked for evidence, not statements of faith.

We always
use faith in our daily lives. When you get on an airplane or drive your
car, you have blind faith that an accident won't happen.

No, we don't; further, you are conflating two wildly different meanings of
"faith".
We *know* accidents do in fact happen, every day. We also know it is
statistically unlikely we'll be involved in one on any given day, so
unless we drive a hell of a lot or fly truly ridiculous amounts, our
chances of being in an accident are low. Not zero, merely low. No faith
involved.

A farmer plants
his seed and has faith it will bear fruit.

No, he doesn't. He expends a great deal of effort to ensure they bear
fruit - weeding and fertilizing and watering and keeping out scavengers
and so forth. And he knows that many factors - plant diseases, bad
weather and the like - can destroy his crop. He knows it is statistically
unlikely for any given planting, so he has a reason to plant them, but he
knows the chances are not zero that the crop will fail. No faith involved.

Of course you notice people
using God in an expression like "Oh, God" or " Jesus Christ!" in
different situations.

Yes, and others use expressions such as "Holy *****". I assume this is
*not* meant to assert that simply because someone uses an expression, this
gives validity to the contents of the expression; if that's your argument,
I assume you'll now start praying to manure piles, right?

Yes people feel God within their hearts and mind,

You might. We don't. Try again. Oh, and you were asked for evidence; so
far, you've offered not a shred.

it comes from an inner faith

You weren't asked for faith, you were asked for evidence.
74 lines in response to a request for evidence, and not a shred of
evidence in the lot. Pretty pathetic.
