SACRAMENTO, California (Reuters) - A bill that would allow same-sex couples
to marry won final passage on Tuesday in the California Assembly, marking
the first time a state legislature in the United States has endorsed gay
marriage.
What will Arnold Schwarzenegger do? Will he sign or will he be a
"girlyman" and veto the bill?

The news tonight says he will veto.

He's a girlyman if he does; he's a girlyman if he doesn't. His best bet is to
"forget" about it sitting on his desk and let it become law without his
signature.

I ought to know this, but is that how it works here in California?

Looking here: http://www.leginfo.ca.gov/const-toc.html
Article 4, Section 10 outlines how the governor takes action on the acts of
the legislature. Subsection (b) details special exceptions to the standard
procedure of subsection (a). What I have been hearing is that exception (3)
would apply: if the governor takes no action within 12 days, it will become
law regardless.
