It's also a word the neo-conservatives themselves created.
Republicans are simply too stupid to live.
It hasn't always been so. It was the Republican Party that opposed slavery
and worked hard to put a stop to it whereas it was the Democratic Party and
the other Parties (major and minor) at the time that worked the hardest to
maintain the satus quo.
My how things have changed. With the hijacking of the GOP by the religious
Christian right extremists, all that has changed. The GOP has literally
been destroyed and has been replaced with a quasi-theocratic socialism
where corporate criminals receive the citizen's tax dollars rather than
where tax dollars are distributed among the poor and unworking.
I was a voting Republican up until around 1988, I believe it was, when the
various Christian extremist cults successfully culminated their take over
of the GOP and fielded Pat Robertson, David Duke, and other utterly insane
monsters.
The now-defunct Institute for First Amendment Studies ramped up to cover
the take over of the GOP and in numerous exposures described a prognosis
that matches point-for-point what we're seeing in America today.
