Prayer For Federal, State And Local Governments:
Lord God, grant to the President of the United States, to the Congress,
and to all law officials on the national, state and local levels, the
gifts of wisdom, justice, counsel and fortitude, to conduct your
affairs and those of men with righteousness. May they realize that all
authority comes from you and may they use it as your representatives.
May men respect all lawful authority justly exercised. *And may our
government bring us to true peace and a prosperity that will be unto
our eternal salvation.* Amen.

If it is nonsense to you, then you must be following
Martin Luther reading.
Or you might be unable to make sense out of it,
due to your limited knowledge...
This book is a very wonderful book for those
you can draw a theological morale of the stories in it,
storie that you call nonsense through ignorance.
You have just proven that your secular metholodology
of approaching the SCRIPTURES is wanting.

not read it perceptively.
My guess is you have merely listened to what your preacher told you about
the Bible.
Even you mention that it is "stories" not factual.

Doesn't matter. Your lack of belief in this has no effect on its
truth, just like your belief in god has no effect on its falsity.

Feel free to pray for these people to do their jobs properly. I see
nothing wrong with that. It may be pointless, but it's not offensive.
It's when you start telling lies like "The United States was founded on
Christian principles" that you become offensive and dangerous to
liberty.

Was it a Buddhist Temple?
A polytheist temple, that is to say a temple
dedicated to idols worship?
or a "Christian" Temple, that is to say a "church"?

Indeed.
So what??????????
So, it's a fact.
Is it founded on Buddhism? And?
No.
What was the first place of worship built by the
first settlers?
Maybe a teepee? An igloo? Dunno. The first settlers arrived tens of
thousands of tears ago.
Was it a Buddhist Temple?
No.
A polytheist temple, that is to say a temple
dedicated to idols worship?
Possibly. The ancestors of the Indians were probably animists of some
stripe.
But this is irrelevant. The religions of America's founders has nothing to
do with the principles America was founded on, which includes a separation
of religion and government.
or a "Christian" Temple, that is to say a "church"?
No. The first settlers came here long before Jesus was even a gleam in a
Roman soldier's eye.

No, it was founded on English Common Law. Try

No.

You'd have to ask the first Indians who settled here.

That's a fact. I doubt that he even bothered to read the

Oh, you mean the non-Indian settlers. Well, they were
Christians, so what other type of temple do you think
they would have built, if not Christian?
Irrelevant. The country was not founded on religion.
True. It was built initially by people trying to practice their
own religion and not the one being forced on them in the
old country. Of course, they then turmed around and tried
to force their own religion on anyone who wanted to live
with them while starting to wipe out the original Indian
inhabitants. That's Christianity for you.

Codebreaker... you're a dimwitted fool, yet I cannot let your comments
go uncriticized as they are broadcast a bit too often.
We can find tons of historic examples that show that human rights and
freedom don't thrive in theocracies. Look at how long it took for
slavery to be abolished in the U.S. or how long it took until blacks
could vote. Look at the atrocities performed during the Dark Ages in
Europe when the Christian religion dominated... when questioning the
existence of the monotheistic god was met with capital punishment.
What are Christian morals? Surely they are not absolute and actually
change with time... yes, they evolve from barbaric morals in barbaric
times to less barbaric morals in reasonable times. You can find ample
justification for slavery and witch burning in the bible... now we
reject those morals, but Christians just reinterpret the nasty parts of
the bible and assign new meaning to it.
If anything, we could argue that religion actually slows down
civilization from advancing, both scientifically and philosophically.
Explain to me why the U.S. was no more advanced than the Romans over
1000 years before them when it came to slavery and related ethics?
Explain how the bible advocates freedom of speech and freedom of
religion?
We consider it civilized to be tolerant to people with another
religion. How does the bible instruct you to be accepting of other
people's different views on religion and how are you turning that other
cheek?
Sorry for poking some fun at you, but you're really not an adversary in
any debate that any of us would worry about.

Unless you adjust or change your definition of RELIGION
you won't be able to see any merit in Christianity.
Too often we believers-and I know you are not one-have
let the secular world defines some terminologies for
us or passively we have adopted their definition
Hence the confusion in the religious STUDY.
Religion is not just anything around or in the TEMPLE,
it is a whole. Ref Deuteronomy 14

You are talking about the PAPAL Catholicism.
I am talking about Christianity.
I went through papal Canon Law lately though, despite
some shortcomings it is far superior to Pharaoh's Laws.

You are talking about the PAPAL Catholicism.
I am talking about Christianity.
Are you saying that Catholics aren't Christians? Surely they pray to
the same god and the same Jesus?
... despite some shortcomings it is far superior to Pharaoh's Laws.
Are you familiar with the democratic city-states of Ancient Greece? Are
you familiar with the Code of Hammurabi? Do you realize that the Roman
legal system quite closely resembles modern legal systems? Do you know
that any of these were reality before Jesus allegedly was ever born?
We can show through easily verifiable proof that a whole range of
concepts already existed for hundreds if not thousands of years.
Christianity does not hold a patent on these concepts as there is proof
of prior art. Egypt and the Pharaoh were not the only civilization at
any point.
Do you accept the above or not?
Now you may claim that Christianity was a catalyst... in order to hold
that view, you have to claim that Catholics aren't Christians... so
that puts you in a logically conflicting position where you will have
to concede on at least one point.
You might have a way out by pointing out that many figures in ancient
times cited belief in one or more deities, but then you'd have to
abandon your point and generalize enough to include Greek mythology and
belief in Ea... which also means conceding as you'd have to acknowledge
the importance of deities other than your own :-)
I'm still interested in knowing from you what the bible's stance is on
freedom of religion and freedom of speech.

The government of the US is not founded on Christianity!
No.
So what??????????
So, the claim is false.
Is it founded on Buddhism?
No, it was founded on English Common Law. Try
reading some real history, not the revisionist garbage
your minister tells you.
No.
And?
And what?
What was the first place of worship built by the
first settlers?
Was it a Buddhist Temple?
A polytheist temple, that is to say a temple
dedicated to idols worship?
You'd have to ask the first Indians who settled here.
You should know as a super historian...
Talk about how to feed your ego?
I don't know, but it's irrelevant.
That's a fact. I doubt that he even bothered to read the
entire thing. There were serveral articles.
or a "Christian" Temple, that is to say a "church"?
Oh, you mean the non-Indian settlers. Well, they were
Christians, so what other type of temple do you think
they would have built, if not Christian?
Irrelevant. The country was not founded on religion.
True. It was built initially by people trying to practice their
own religion and not the one being forced on them in the
old country. Of course, they then turmed around and tried
to force their own religion on anyone who wanted to live
with them while starting to wipe out the original Indian
inhabitants. That's Christianity for you.
Please do answer.
Two of have. Your turn.

Don't forget that too many impostors in history hid behind CHRISTIANITY to carry out their greed
As is now the case with the current U.S. government?
It's hard to criticize a Christian's behaviour when there is going to
be another Christian saying the first Christian isn't a REAL
Christian... while the first one is saying the second isn't real.
If someone says he's atheist... I have no base to dispute his claim, no
matter how bad or good that person is. But then again, failure to be
"good" is a personal failure in that view and not one that can be
attributed to a teaching as there is no teaching or centralized dogma.
Is it fair to say there is no way to benchmark or test whether someone
is or isn't a real Christian? The televangelists surely have an immense
following... so obviously they are good Christians and what they say is
representative of their teaching's morals?

The respect for the rules of LAW
is a religious injonction. Ref Rom 13.
Your great great ancestors were idolatrous,
incestuous, gloutonnous,barbarian, cannibal
that is to say those who eat human flesh, unruly
uncivilized, pervert, sun worshipers,orgy lovers,
killing babies for sacrifice, they were involved with
human sacrifice,they were unjuste.
If not for Christianity, this would be
your inheritance.
Now, Christianity had to do the ground work
and unite the european different tribes into
one people with high moral principles and the
thirst for justice as it transpired in
the American Constitution and also in the
bill of rights. So Christianity did a good job
despite all the short comings due to men greeed.
But how would those JERKS be able to see the
bright side of it.
Please do answer.

I'm sorry, but you are showing great ignorance to history. Concepts of
democracy, freedom of speech, human rights and so on predate
Christianity. You can find many examples in the ancient Greek
civilization and the writings of Greek philosophers. Also, the Catholic
Church pretty much ruled Europe during what we now know as the Dark
Ages... thus we can find many examples where "Christian Rule" does not
equal civilization.
Oh, and btw.... what's the point of insulting the religion of "sun
worshippers" and still expect your worship of an imaginary entity to be
met with respect?

And thus, Codebreaker's stance comes down to "do as I say, not as I do"
-- perhaps we should really be looking at something else to base our
ethics on that what Codebreaker uses for inspiration.

Further proof of the U.S. as the Immoral Nation:
Corinthians 6:7 "The very fact that you have lawsuits among you means
you have been completely defeated already. Why not rather be wronged?"
But anyway, Codebreaker... just take a peek at the prison population
statistics to see that atheists are actually underrepresented compared
to believers. Which real link is there between being christian and
being "good" or law-abiding?
Ideology says one thing, reality another... and Codebreaker seems to
have stopped saying anything at all... ?
