Deceiving Americans Into Socialism

The real goal of the ACLU is to diminish the constitutional rights of
American citizens. The ACLU founder and executive director from 1920 to
1950, Roger Baldwin, described the Soviet Union as a "great laboratory of
social experimentation of incalculable value to the development of the
world." He wanted to bring socialism to America, but he knew that to be
effective, he had to disguise and mask this goal in terms of individual
rights. He wrote: "Do steer away from making it look like a socialist
enterprise. We want to look like patriots in everything we do. We want to
get a good lot of flags, talk a good deal about the Constitution and what
our forefathers wanted to make of the country, and to show that we are
really the folks that really stand for the spirit of our institutions."

ACLU Tries to Shut Down the Boy Scouts While Defending Juvenile Boys Who
Want to Cavort Nude in a Public Park Orlando, FL (11/19/2004) The ACLU
recently announced that the Pentagon will no longer sponsor the Boy Scouts
of America (³BSA²). However, this claim of victory was overexaggerated,
misleading, and obviously designed to raise funds for the groupıs liberal
agenda. The Boy Scouts will not be adversely affected. While trying to
hurt the BSA, the ACLU filed suit against the state of Virginia, claiming
that juvenile boys have a constitutional right to cavort nude in public
parks.

The ACLU has jumped in screaming, arms flailing -- whenever anyone
attempts to pray in public school, on campus, in public buildings, or on
public grounds.
· It has opposed all signs of Christmas in public places, including: the
singing of ³Silent Night,² nativity scenes, and the depiction of shepherds
and wise men.
· It forced the U.S. Park Service to remove three bronze plaques from
the Grand Canyon because they contained Bible verses.
· It demanded that a Bible be removed from a granite memorial in Houston.
· It opposed a fundraising concert to benefit a county agency that
served children because the scheduled program included Gospel music.
· It pressured a school district into denying Christians rebuttal time
after a pro-homosexual organization had presented an assembly program.
· It forced the City of Los Angeles to remove a cross from its seal,
which contained other historical symbols as well.
· It sued a Louisiana school district because the teachers organized an
adult prayer group.

That could not be further from the truth. Which constitution are you
reading? The copy Bush took a pair of scissors and a Sharpie to?
The ACLU protects *everyone's* constitutional rights, not just those you
think oppose you. You'd better hope you don't need them some day when a
Muslim parent tries to keep your kid from praying during recess.
