There is no absolute constitutional right to own a firearm under any
and all circumstances. Where'd you get the idea there was?

Probably the Constitution which you seem to imply is merely a "suggestion",
rather than the supreme law of the land it declares itself to be.

Exactly what you think the purpose is. Be advised, however, that the
folks who control the pursestrings and the big guns will suspend its
provisions as they see fit, so keep a close eye on them.

The only effective constraint on the cops is an armed public ready to
fight back. As in "If any cop violates the rights of one human, we
humans are gonna kill every cop in the State of Louisiana. Then who are
you gonna call when you need a toilet plunger shoved up your *****?"

Most cops aren't afraid of guns. The bad ones are afraid of cameras.

The government should uphold the law, which doesn't include forcing people
out of their private residences. They should stay out of all rescue and
relief efforts.

Moron, they can snipe at helicopters one minute and insist that they are
"law-abiding citizens" the next. Your real purpose is to coddle criminal
gun nuts, because you know that police don't have time to run the
paperwork and possible ballistics tests on every motherfucking gun down
there while trying to do the rest of their jobs. So YOU go risk YOUR
life trying to catch a sniper in the act. In the mean time, during a
state of emergency it has always been legitimate to temporarily curtail
some liberties to promote law and order. Normally we couldn't force
people to evacuate their homes either, but there is a state of emergency
in effect in New Orleans, or haven't you noticed?

Was this before or after the idiots took to sniping at rescue copters
and getting into gunfights with police officers?
Deal with the snipers, not law abiding citizens with legally owned guns.
Moron, they can snipe at helicopters one minute and insist that they are
"law-abiding citizens" the next.
They can insist all they like, but strangely we still manage to arrest, try
and convict criminals despite their insistence they didn't do it.

I certainly do, and most criminals insist they didn't commit the crime when
the police are arresting them for it. Hasn't seemed to stop the justice
system from prosecuting them and finding them guilty.

I certainly do,
Tell us, sherlock: How do police arrest somebody for shooting at
helicopters when there are no witnesses?
and most criminals insist they didn't commit the crime when
the police are arresting them for it. Hasn't seemed to stop the justice
