The Only Scientific And Logical Conclusion Is................ |

are opposing and mutually exclusive concepts.
If the entropy principle is really a universal law, then evolution must be impossible.
The very terms themselves express contradictory concepts. The word "evolution"
is of course derived from a Latin word meaning "out-rolling". The picture is of an
outward-progressing spiral."

that the universe had a beginning. Similarly, the First Law shows that the universe
could not have begun itself. The most scientific and logical conclusion to which we

Not just according to him. All life exhibits the property of defying

Now if we were to grant that the sun doesn't provide enough energy for
localized decreases in entropy (as Andrew has claimed in another post),
and we granted that a decrease in entropy implies an outside agent
(that is somehow resistant to the laws of physics), then any order in a
system must be caused by this agent.
Though I doubt it was his intention, Andrew argues for an
interventionist deity of a type not seen since the decline of rain
gods.
Fortunately, however, we don't need to get out our Home Goat
Sacrificing Kits. Andrew is wrong on almost every count.
- The second law of thermodynamics only apply to closed systems, which
the Earth is not.
- The sun provides an enormous amount of energy, enough to counter
entropy and convert carbon dioxide and water (two extremely stable
compounds) into very large quantities of sugar and dioxygen (two
unstable compounds) on a daily basis.
- Macroevolution is a demonstrable phenomenon (and is in fact no
different from so-called "microevolution" over enough generations).
- Being "genetically programmed" does not exempt something from the
second law of thermodynamics. Which is why we're genetically programmed
to consume other genetically programmed organisms, down a long chain
until we hit something that is genetically programmed to store energy
from the sun in what we call organic chemicals, and we break the bonds
within, releasing the energy we need to continue our struggle against
entropy.
His assertion of a creator god is worthless because it's based on
entirely false premises. His arguments are so weak, that this is almost
certainly a case of after the fact justification. He believes in his
god for irrational reasons, and grasps at straws trying to prove its
existence to others that don't have his irrational belief.
You can't have it both ways.
