Oh. I thought this was going to be something about toads.
I heard about Herskowitz, Cheney, and Bush on the way home today on Air
America. There's no doubt about it. He wanted to get Saddam from even
before the start. 9/11 just provided a convenient excuse. It seems he
wanted to be a 'great' wartime president. Doesn't surprise me. The man's
ego knows no bounds. What he forgets is that those are not toy soldiers
that he is playing with, but real live human beings who bleed and die
and leave grieving families behind. Iraq was not worth one life.
Maybe I was right the first time.

Bush wanted to start a war before he ever got elected. He is
desperate to prove what a great wartime President he is, so
he can bury his cowardice when he was in the National Guard.
And, in order to do this, he was and is willing to commit
treason, lie to the entire world and let thousands of people
die in a false war, just to build up his pitiful ego. As much as
I loathe his father, at least that Bush was legally elected and
did his wartime duty,. Shrub will never be half the man his
father is. And, that's what it all boils down to: Shrub trying to
be better than his daddy. He never will be. He'll always be
Bushlite.

Rivalry with his father does seem play a role. I haven't read much of
his early biography, but IIRC Daddy Bush spent a lot of time away from
home with his business interests and later with his government work. I
wonder how Dubya got along with Mama Bush. Could an Oedipus complex be
at work here?

Yes, but Barbara Bush never instilled consideration for others into
her children.

Or a sense of decency. Or respect for the truth. I could go on.

Yes, but those follow.

Too bad her kids didn't follow them.

It would have cut into their lifestyle.

Maybe I was right the first time.

It's interesting the way spin and selective quotes can put together a
story like that, and how quickly the anti-war crowd will line up to
endorse such blatantly manipulated "history".
