The Pope's Funeral On TV |
I've got a good supply of old Hammer Horror films to keep me busy
tonight...if I'm going to have necrophilia on my TV, I'd prefer that it be
pretend!!!

Those old Hammer films are great. There is nothing like watching a Dr.
Phibes film in the dark though.

Actually Dr Phibes was from one of Hammer's main rivals, American
International Pictures...Vincent Price never worked for Hammer....but the
old AIP and Amicus pictures are just as good...especially the old
anthologies, like "Vault of Horror" and "Asylum".

Those Hammer films are a bigger cult classic than the Phibes films. One
film I haven't seen in years is "The Man in the White Suit". Won best
picture in the UK IIRC. I saw a trailer for the remake of THGTTG. As near
as I can tell it is all sizzle and no steak. Looks lame. The feature film
by Nick Park looks promising. DVDs of "Wallace and Gromit" are non-
existent right now. Can't figure that out at all.

It was released a couple of weeks ago on DVD, but I'm going to have to wait
for a while for the price to drop before I pick up a copy!

Clayton, if you're anywhere in 'Merica, scoot on over to Hollywood
Videos on a regular basis and check their used DVDs for sale. I've
gotten several perfectly good ones that way, costing $10/each (the deal
is 3 for $30). So far, each of them seems to be in A-1 condition, so
I'm fairly comfortable recommending you try this.

I live in Australia and I can buy second hand DVDs here too...but having
just been screwed on 3 ex rentals I bought which were all fucked and unable
to get a refund on, I've decided to stay away from second hand for a while.

You missed some choice lines from the commentators. In one ironmetre
busting comment a woman on SBS praised JP2 for valuing women and
moving women in the church away from centuries of oppression. I still
haven't picked up my jaw from the floor.
But after I put on "The Meaning of Life" for some sanity.
