ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (Reuters) - Oh heck. You can't drive on the
Devil's highway in New Mexico anymore.
Route 666, often referred to by locals as the "Highway to Hell" or
"Satan's Highway" was formally re-christened Route 491 on Wednesday.
Several prominent voices wanted new numbers for one of the state's
deadliest roads that lacked associations with the biblical beast.
"After 77 years of concern and discontent we have finally removed
any reference to the devil from this highway," said Gov. Bill
Richardson in a ceremonial dedication.
Gee, thanks.

I wonder if anyone has an estimate of what is cost to replace all of
the road signs.

Fortunately hockey fans still have the Stanley Cup champion New Jersey Devils
and Buffalo Sabres winger Miroslav Satan.

I don't know anything about hockey, but man, that's one cool name.
Wish it were mine.

The fools! Want to bet how many associations Kansan can find between
the number 491 and the Antichrist?

Stupid Christians can't even get their own myth right. 666 is the
number of the beast, which is the anti-Christ. The anti-Christ is not
the devil.

I suppose it's hard to be dogmatic about since it is theology which is
a one person giving their pointless elaboration of another person's
opinion about nothing.
In the end times circles I roamed, the numbered beast of Revelation
*was* the anti-Christ.

No they haven't - The devil is just playing with them!
They have diminished the number by 666 - 491 = 175; and 175 is a
number nearly as dark as the number of the beast itself.
Ever since Judas, the 13th person at the feast, betrayed the most
high to the most low all God fearing folk have avoided 13 like
the plague.
and 175 is the sum of the Judas number squared and the abominable
digit 6, taken from straight from the number of the beast:
175 = (13 * 13) + 6
