The Terry Schiavo imbroglio |
The legal, political and religious imbroglio over the Terri Schiavo saga has
some ridiculous logic.
The religious right and politicians pontificated that the "right to life"
and "sanctity of life" dictated that Schiavo's brain dead life be maintained
on her feeding tube.
Now the Christian religious belief is that people go to an everlasting and
happy life after death in Jesus' heaven. A heaven where the departed souls
are free from the human pains and suffering of hunger, diseases, war ,
storms, earthquakes and other catastrophes.
Why do these same religious fanatics insist on maintaining the lives of
chronically and physically impaired individuals? Why don't they encourage an
expeditious transfer to this more pleasant and bountiful heaven?
Could it be that deep their minds they don't really believe in a wondrous
after life?
