The "trial" rebuttal - summation |
First, I would like to thank the panel for their time. All of you were
aware of me before this proceeding, none of you would identify yourself
as a friend. With a couple of you I have even had a bad history, but I
believed you when you said you would be impartial and weigh the case on
it's evidence. Truth is important to you all.
The issue is for the poster "LC" to *PROVE* that J Young and Iben
Getiner the same person . Despite an agreement to keep this issue
strictly J Young and Iben Getiner, "LC" found it necessary to introduce
a whole slew of so-called sockpuppets that had no bearing on the
question at hand. What if J Young were all of those ID's but Iben
wasn't any of them? or vice-versa? or if J was some and Iben were
others? Or, God forbid, someone else uses AOL and doesn't like some
things posted in alt.abortion? None of those posts did anything but
fuel speculation, not prove anything.
The one sure way to make the connection would have been to do a WHOIS.
This was suggested to "LC" early on and would have taken alot less
effort and time than he obviously did. Do you really think "LC" would
let such a fool-proof method slip by? I doubt it. He's never said why
this wasn't done.
This is not the first time "LC" has gone on the offensive to prove
someone else was Iben Getiner. After a few months of harrassment, using
the same type of evidence he provide here, he suddenly stopped. Why?
One poster provided something "LC" never did; an explanation of exactly
what NNTP Posting-Host is and how it applies to AOL. This info
discredits every example "LC" made when referring to these numbers. If
his explanation wasn't enough, I provided a "LC" length slew of posts
that other Usenet posters are experiencing with the same #'s "LC" has
provided.
The only connections between Iben and myself is we both are AOL dial-up
users who take a pro-life position in the abortion ng's. The vast
majority of my postings are done outside and are generally topical;
check any of the groups I post to and notice that the most popular and
longest running threads are usually begun by me as the original poster
( this despite the fact that I'm everyones killfile? ). You will not
find that with Iben. Our spelling, grammer, and overall use of language
is different. "LC" has provided much evidence that no doubt would lead
one to believe his assertions are possible, but absolutely nothing he
presented *PROVES* his case.

Well, there you have it.
I have attempted to make my case that "J Young" and "IBen Getiner" are
indeed the same individual.
Mr. Young's refutations, and final summation, has attempted to highlight the
reasons he believes I have not made a compelling case.
It's now in the jury's hands. Unless there are any further clarifications
requested, I believe we are all ready to hear the verdict.
