The Truth About Modern Zionism and Misunderstood Mahmood Ahmadinejad

While zionism was founded as a movement toward returning Jewish people
to the land known as Israel or Palestine, modern day zionism is very
misunderstood. Is it support for everything Israel may want to do? Is
it support for bringing more Jewish people to Israel? Is is support
for taking all land from Palestinians? Jewish people have told me that
it is just support for Jews in Israel, but that's pretty vague, so I
have had to look into it.
President Olmert recently said that he wishes to "dilute" the meaning
of zionism so that it will appeal to jewish citizens of both left and
right wings [http://www.jnewswire.com/article/1182]. That will be
nice, then he can just say that he has "zionist policy" and whatever
that is will be just fine. It must look like "patriotic policy" in the
U=2ES., meaning me and my rich friends get whatever they want, while the
rest suffer. Olmert confirmed that his zionism is just like Bush's
patriotism by saying "Whoever believes in the right of the Jewish
People to have a sovereign Jewish state in any part of the Land of
Israel is a Zionist." If Olmert says it, it must be true, right?
In 1948 the State of Israel was formed on the territory known at that
time as Palestine. Many have accepted Israel's right to occupy land in
Palestine since it is now a done-deal, but once they have arrived to
that land, then what does the Zionism movement aim to do? I tried to
get editors on wikipedia to allow some of this content on the zionism
page and to tell me more about what they think "modern zionism" is, but
they just deleted my content and accused me of trying to give all
Jewish people a bad name.
With Zionist leaders trying to pass racist laws
[http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/2115857.stm] as recently as
2002, it is pretty easy to see why most jewish people are not boasting
about their pride in zionism. Out of 20 random jewish organization
websites I reviewed, 19 made no mention of the word "zion, zionism, or
zionist". Do jewish organizations want to stand far away from the
zionist theme and if so, why? I'll tell you why, because the people
who promoted it from the beginning and on up until today, say that
Jewish people are better than all others, and that they should only
help each other, work together and that they should only live and marry
among other Jewish people and that the suffering of non-jews is
irrelevant as long as they help each other to prosper. Who wouldn't
want to back away from such a disgusting diatribe?
In 2002, Haim Druckman managed to gain the support of 17 Israeli
Parliament officials in an effort to pass a law that would deny Arabs
the right to live on State land.
[http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/2115857.stm] BBC World News.
Druckman, has described the cabinet's support for this legislation as
"one of the government's finest hours", a decision that he said "put
colour back into the cheeks of Zionism". Many were outraged at the
proposed legislation and called it blatantly racist.
The most vocal critics of Zionism base their criticism on racist
legislation proposed by Zionist Leaders such as Haim Druckman [victory
for Zionism] and on Israel's failure to comply with the United Nations
Resolution 242 (citation coming) that was agreed upon in 1968 by both
the PLO and Israel, in order to fairly divide the land.
Resolution 242, passed in 1967, by the United
Nations[http://domino.un.org/UNISPAL.NSF/9a798adbf322aff38525617b006d88d7/7=
d35e1f729df491c85256ee700686136!OpenDocument]
determined that all land taken during the [[Six-Day War]] would be
returned to the Palestinians. Despite details in that resolution,
Israel kept control of the land and continued to take more land that
was designated by the U.N. to remain in the hands of Palestinians.
In 1975 the United Nations General Assembly Resolution 3379 was passed.
It stated that "zionism is a form of racism and racial discrimination"
The resolution 3379 was rescinded in 1991 by Resolution 4686
[http://encyclopedia.quickseek.com/index.php/UN_General_Assembly_Resolution=
_4686],
after the U.S. pressured UN members to approve the resolution through
various promises and bribes. Calling racism friendship doesn't make it
so. Just ask Haim Druckman.
Many Jewish people and organizations do not support zionism
specifically because it contains separatist views that are incompatible
in any democratic state that treats all people equally. But the thing
that is weird is that many will not admit their disgust with zionist
policies and ideals, and instead they try to back it up as a good thing
that has no definitive meaning today. Just look at wikipedia to see
that they go on and on about the historical aspects of zionism and the
long history of jewish oppression, but they don't want to tell you what
it is today or why they support it - they just do. And if you try to
add anything that contradicts zionism on the wikipedia article for that
subject, they will call you an anti-semite and block your access to
edit pages. It's ridiculous. I am the most non-racist or judgmental
person in the world, having grown up without organized religion (which
you don't need by the way to have morality) and having spent my life
with friends from all over the world and having completely non-racist
parents; so to call me an anti-semite is truly a joke. My best friend
for many years Roz Siegel can confirm.
The original proponents of Zionism have clearly stated that Jews must
help jews and that all others are unequal. These blatantly
undemocratic statements may have been acceptable when Jews were being
persecuted throughout the world, but in modern times, they are
unacceptable and if Jewish people aren't going to denounce the whole
concept of Zionism, they are in for a rude awakening and it's not going
to be the coming of the Messiah. It is no wonder that Olmert wants to
redefine Zionism, but how is he going to do it? Without a detailed and
definitive description of what Zionism is today, it is just another
tool like "patriotism" in the U.S. (Either you are with us, or you are
against us".) Vague words like patriotism and zionism that incite
compassion but have no definition in policy will continue to be used by
politicians who need support for their oppressive policies.
Here is some fairly recent history of the zionist movement:
Gush Emunim is an Israeli political movement that sprang out of the
conquests of the Six-Day War in 1967, though it was not formally
established as an organization until 1974, in the wake of the Yom
Kippur War. It encouraged Jewish settlement of land they believe God
has allotted for Jews. Gush Emunim was closely associated with, and
highly influential in, the Mafdal - National Religious Party (NRP), the
party which is identified with religious Zionism. These days they refer
to themselves -and are referred to by the Israeli media as-
Ne'emanei Eretz Yisrael (Hebrew: "Those who are loyal/faithful to the
land of Israel"). (wikipedia)
Rabbi Haim Druckman, a founder of and leading activist within Gush
Emunim returned to the National Religious Party from Morasha.

With Olmert's approval rating at 20%, one could easily assume that most
jews in Israel do not support his zionist regime, just as Mahmood
Ahmadinejad does not support the zionist regime. But if Olmert can
manage to redefine zionism, then maybe he will be able to convince jews
and others, that you are either with him, or with the terrorists.
Despite massive protests by Jews against Olmert's policies, wikipedia
says that "an overwhelming majority of jewish organizations are
zionist". I think it is a lie. There are many wikipedia editors who
want to say that Iran wants to kill all jews and that the Holocaust
conference was not for education, but for denial, and that if you don't
support Israel in everything they do, you are anti-semetic, but
hopefully, there will continue to be enough unbiased editors over there
to make sure they don't stop the truth from getting out. Wikipedia is
an important tool if we make sure it is used to spread the truth. The
majority of fair and non-racist Jewish people better hope we do.

Having discussed it with Muslims on many occasions, I knew a long time
ago that when Mahmood said that the "Holocaust was a myth", what he was
really saying is that the story of the holocaust is made to be the
"grand denial of democracy" in order to gain full support for the
politicians in Israel, while the story of Arab persecution throughout
history is not a big myth or story that brings compassion their way and
therefore the Holocaust is no more important than any other story of
mass persecution, of which there are many. Mahmood did finally clarify
his statements about "wiping out Israel" to be "wiping out the
Zionist regime"
[http://www.democracynow.org/article.pl?sid=3D06/12/13/1451213]. But
even when he said it in a way that was easy for the West to translate,
they misquoted him anyway to say that he still planned to "wipe out
Israel". On December 13th, 2006 Democracy Now played Ahmadinejad's
statement correctly "wipe out Zionist Regime", but on December 15th,
they changed his statement to say "wipe out Israel". It is a truly sad
day for me when Amy Goodman resorts to mass media spin to support
anyone's agenda.
But then, it is the donation season, so we can hardly blame them for
appeasing the rich, or can we? God bless the rich people, you deserve
more.
