Object: the Vatican Vault
Hi all,
First of all I'd like to introduce myself. I'm a Dutch guy who tries to
unlock the secrets of the Vatican. I'm starting a website about the
truth, myths, legends and beliefs about the Roman Catholic church. What
is in it's vault? A section of the site is dedicated to the Dead Sea
Scrolls. Please help me with it and give some ideas and comments. If
you have some information to share, that would be usefull!

Alvin

One interesting subject to "tackle" is the identity of the mysterious
(Essene?) "Teacher of Righteousness." I have failed to "keep up" with the
subject and would be interested in seeing what you come up with in this
regard. When I last broached the subject, my thinking (as well as a number
of "real" scholars) at the time, was that he may have been "Jesus" (or
somebody like him).
If this has been "proven" not to be the case, I would like to know that as
well.

I thought this was all answered in Robbins' book "another roadside

Secreticus primo: The Pope knows it's all just a myth designed to
manipulate the masses (no pun intended). All popes have known this
right from the beginning.

There's more than one, actually, for a couple of reasons. But in the
"main" vault, or what most people think of as "the" vault... Some
fragments of ancient bark with writing on them, some links of chain, a
relatively recent addition of silk, some old candelabras, a globe
(maybe several), a star chart that can be projected onto the ceiling
and walls by candlelight, beau coup human remains, several splinters
of wood, articles of clothing and jewelry worn by the various popes
throughout the ages, books (of course), including several ancient
hand-written bibles including some of the apocrypha, a silver ring
purpoted to have belonged either to Josephus or to Judas Iscariot
(maybe one of each, but at least one), looking glasses galore, some
old seals for imprinting wax with, not many mirrors, a few tapestries,
some paintings (attempted portriates of earlier popes, especially, but
others as well)... Things too numerous to mention. It's a crowded,
dark, dusty and cramped place, though in recent years they have added
a few modern appliances (dehumidifiers & such) to help preserve things
a bit. Every once in awhile they'll "de-crowd" things by creating
newer, more "permanent" vaults, but only for some of the things whose
usefulness to the church has been expired for awhile. There's nothing
too terribly valuable in (most of) these "auxilliary" vaults, however.

A section of the site is dedicated to the Dead Sea
Scrolls. Please help me with it and give some ideas and comments. If

....but if you ask me how I know these things, I might have to do away
with you in some diabolical and unnatural way. muahahahahah... ;-)
