This phrase, "nanny state"...I do not think it means what you think it
means.
(By the way, why is a celebrity getting involved in politics? Shut up

Liberals like "JTEM" believe that "I'm from the government and I'm here to

However, there are things that I want the government to do and I pay
them for it...such as social security, roads, clean water, courts...

Sometimes, yes, they actually can. I am not personally enrolled in the food
stamp program, but I had friends growing up who were. Their parents worked
long hours late at night, and still couldn't quite make ends meet without
some help. These people were embarrassed to be enrolled, but without food
stamps, they would have gone hungry.
Cut the housing and food programs, and those people would be homeless and
starving. There aren't enough Warren Buffets in the world to completely
replace those programs.

I can appreciate that, but don't you realize that food stamps are a
policy fix so poor people can afford to pay the inflated prices that come
from agricultural price supports?

Cut the ag price support and people could afford to buy food without
needing further government intervention to offset the problems caused by
government intervention in the first place.

This is a complete fantasy. There is very little -- if any --
relationship between farm prices and retail prices.
Traditionally, the difference between what the farmer got for
the food, and what was ultimately paid at the market, went
directly into the pockets of "investors."
You've heard of the commodities market, right?

This from DenialSan, who won't even look at anything that might not fit
