"...those trying to discover the origins of life and study the earliest
stages of biological evolution have an uphill quest: Over and over it
happens that a theory or explanation believed to be well established
has to
be abandoned or rethought in the light of new findings" (Antonio
Lazcano,
professor, National Autonomous University of Mexico and president of
the
International Society for the Study of the Origins of Life, "The
Never-Ending Story," American Scientist vol. 91, no. 5, 2003).

If there's a bottom to the bottomless pit of stupid, people like this will
find it.

snip mindless drivel <
Nothing about the biological evolutionary process has, nor will ever be
abandoned. Certain conclusions will have to be re-thought, as new evidence
in unearthed. The earliest traces of biological existence go back about 4
billion years, as evidenced at a preciously few locations on Earth which
have not been subjected to tectonic subduction during that time, namely in
Greenland and Southern Australia. We may even find eventually that life was
transported to Earth from elsewhere via asteroids or was contained in dust
particles from passing comets' tails. In either case, unlike you christian
morons, who must have an explanation at all cost, we can accept the fact
that the origin of life will become transparent to all of us in due time and
not worry about it until then. Neither do we feel compelled to accept the
idiotic notion of Spontaneous Creation, or its senile little offshoot,
Intelligent Design, just to fill a perceived void in the history of
humanity.

Or is this another dishonestly mined and butchered quote?

Liar.

http://www.americanscientist.org/template/IssueTOC/issue/400
is the magazine. the quote appears in a book review
http://www.americanscientist.org/template/BookReviewTypeDetail/assetid/25822
Later he adds
"But as more and more completely sequenced cellular genomes have become
available, their analysis has shown that an extensive amount of
horizontal transfer of genes occurred, leading many to wonder whether we
will ever untangle the weblike phylogenies of early cell evolution."
and ends with
" These three books provide insights into our planet's infancy and the
conditions that led to the appearance of life and its extraordinary
divergence, but much information has been lost forever. Like Sisyphus,
we may never find respite at the top of the hill, but as Paul Lurquin
reminds us in a footnote, Camus concluded his essay by stating that "The
struggle itself toward the heights is enough to fill a man's heart. One
must imagine Sisyphus happy." As the elegant writing and optimistic tone
of these books suggest, Camus probably had it right."
Clearly, he is just being honest about the difficulties of trying to
reconstruct events in an atmosphere with chemical conditions that no
longer exist

It's ironic that a creature like you, the end run of billions of
years of evolution, scoff at your own origin to favor a, without
question, superstition.
