*Atlanta Mourns Coretta King Amid Family Dispute Over Museum*
:-D Before the coffin was even put in the ground! :-D
Feb. 2 (Bloomberg) -- Shanitra Dent's four children each laid a single red
rose at the tomb of civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. in Atlanta
this week after hearing news of the death of his widow, Coretta Scott King.
``She was quietly fierce, and she became everything that Martin Luther King
stood for,'' said Dent, 28, from Duluth, Georgia. ``She spoke out for people
like me and my kids.''
Hundreds of mourners left bouquets, wreaths and balloons at King's crypt to
remember Coretta King, 78, who died Jan. 31 of ovarian cancer. Georgia's
legislature, the General Assembly, observed a moment of silence to honor
the woman it called the ``first lady of the civil rights movement,'' and
Governor Sonny Perdue, a Republican, lowered state flags to half staff.
Amid the tributes, her four adult children are still battling
over: Whether to sell the nonprofit King Center, an Atlanta memorial
that attracts 650,000 visitors annually.
