to those of you who believe Pascal's wager is a decent argument |
Pascals wager?...really? Tell you what. Paypal me $600.00 or you are
going to hell. Really, can you risk the chance I am wrong? A measly
$600.00 against the possible chance of the eternal lake of fire.

I forgot to mention that you do not hold the keys to death and hell
so you cannot control who gets thrown into the "eternal lake of fire".
Secondly, salvation is not for sale, it is a free gift from God.

But since Pascal's wager is used by theists, to convince atheists who don't
believe in a lake of fire that there really is a lake of fire, we figured it
could be used to convince you.
Maybe even you're too smart to fall for the lies of your own religion?
Nahhh.
Secondly, salvation is not for sale, it is a free gift from God.
That's not the salvation he's talking about. He's talking about another
different lake of fire that $600.00 can save you from. If you think the
threat of a lake of fire should be convincing to atheists, why isn't the
threat of a lake of fire convincing to you?

I have no fear of any such "lake of fire" because my home is in heaven.
Only those who have rejected Christ need have any fears.

Funny. So your "loving god" is currently sending roughly two-thirds of
the world population to this "lake of fire" of yours. Funny, in a very
disgusting way.
And if you take comfort in that, you're a seriously disturbed

No, it's not an "excuse", it is rather, the truth. I did not say anything
about
taking comfort in the torture of others. If you have any scriptural
knowledge
you'd know that believers will not "witness" the judgement and destruction
of unbelievers.

Why are the unbelievers being judged again? I recall the Bible saying
"Judge not, lest ye be judged". I fairly sure it's there, but don't
quote me, and I don't know which verse.
If it's because "the evidence of God is everywhere", well, no. It's
not. Pull up a piece of evidence, and I will examine it.

I don't think you understand me at all. If you did have any sort of
under-
standing you'd know that I haven't tried to convince any of you of
anything.
All I have done is quoted some scripture
Where it's not wanted, so that's in violation of what that scripture
tells you to do.
It is not a violation of scripture at all.
Luke 9:5
And whosoever will not receive you, when ye go out of that city, shake
off the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them.
And you think this passage applies to the internet? That's funny.
That means that you quote it at us but don't believe it yourself.
That would be another lie.
So Luke 9:5 doesn't mean what it says? Imagine that.
It does mean what it says. I just disagree with you on the
modern day application(s).
And don't even try to tell me that I'm lying, or that I don't
understand you or any other weasel words - that's EXACTLY what ANY
sane person would understand your words to mean.
Your idea of "any person" means only an atheist.
Or someone who's read the whole bible.
I've read the Bible too, so what?
If you don't accept that that's what they mean, it only means that
you're not intelligent enough to understand your own posts.
...in your opinion.
Nope. Your posts demonstrate that you either don't understand what
you've read in your bible, or don't think it applies to you.
I don't think it applies to me the way YOU say it does. I don't think you
understand scripture so you interpret it to mean whatever you want it
to at that moment.
Show me where I EVER said "if you don't listen to what I say,
terrible
things will happen to you!" That is not something that I have ever
posted anywhere. Why do you atheists always resort to lies?
The proof is here right above
Quote
The judgement is completely avoidable. People will suffer only if
they
choose to reject Jesus Christ but that is their choice.
Unquote
Then you are proving yourself to AGAIN be a liar because I did not make
the statement that you claim I did.
Does he have to reproduce the entire post to prove that those are your
words?
I did not make the statement that he claims I did.
Non sequitur.
You are threatening us, like many of your kind have before, with
eternal
torture and damnation if we don't agree with you.
You're a sick puppy.
You can lie about whatever you want. I made no threats of any kind.
If you didn't understand that "People will suffer only if they choose
to reject Jesus Christ" is a threat then you're not a complete liar,
you're just a complete idiot.
No, you are the liar.
What has he lied about?
He has claimed that I have said things that I have not.
If you don't like to hear what is in the Bible then hanging out in
a Christian NG is probbably not a good idea.
Learn how Usenet works. Neither Steve nor I are reading your words in
a Christian NG - you're posting them to alt.atheism. (And if you
start blathering about where you're posting from you'll just prove, to
anyone who knows how Usenet works, that you don't have any more clue
about Usenet than you do about reality.)
You are cross posting to alt.religion.christian.
As a result of your crossposts into alt.atheism. Better than 95% of
the crossposts between alt.atheism and religious newsgroups originate
from the religious newsgroups.
You can blame me if that soothes your concience.
I also have a right to cross ost to your atheist newsgroup.
Yes you do. And we have the right to point out your factual errors,
logical fallacies, and outright lies.
Well, when I make any of those feel free. Unfortunately, I haven't yet.
And spelling errors, since you were foolish enough to bring that up;
what is a "cross ost"?
It works both ways scooter.
Too bad for you. Oh, by the way, you left out another comma.
So?

So Luke 9:5 doesn't mean what it says? Imagine that.
It does mean what it says. I just disagree with you on the

Of course you do, that's how you rationalize your disobedience to GOD'S
COMMANDMENTS. So your position is that if someone in the town you're
in tells you to shut up about your delusion, you have to walk out of
town barefoot, but it's okay to annoy people on the internet for as
long as you want.
That's the spirit.

Of course not. You pick and chose what's convenient to believe.
I don't think you understand scripture so you interpret
it to mean whatever you want it to at that moment.
Whereas you just ignore the parts you don't like.

I don't "justify" disobedience but no one is stupid enough to let some
