To tithe or not to tithe |
I could be wrong, but I thought there was a passage in the bible where jebus
says that people shouldn't tithe. Sounds familiar to anyone?

I don't know any offhand that outright say this, but the part about
"The poor will always be with us" has sometimes been interpretted that
way (i.e., don't bother trying to alleviate poverty because you'll
always have the poor around anyway).

I've read the NT twice, but I can't recall anything like this. There's
the story of the widow's mite, but that's not about tithing. IIRC,
there's nothing in the Gospels on the subject at all...
