TOBS-Genesis: Creative day II |
All,
{another thread that really belongs to Talk.Origins,
but due the ongoing content moderation...well, I just
have to make due.. I wish to express my gratitude to
SAP moderator for allowing me to post from SAP as me
knew home group, at least until the T.O content
moderation ban is lifted}
That being, said let continue we read:
“‘Let an expanse come to be in between the waters and
let a dividing occur between the waters and the
waters.’ Then God proceeded to make the expanse and to
make a division between the waters that should be
beneath the expanse and the waters that should be
above the expanse. And it came to be so. And God began
to call the expanse Heaven.”—Genesis 1:6-8.
Some translations use the word “firmament” instead of
“expanse.” From this the argument is made that the
Genesis account borrowed from creation myths that
represent this “firmament” as a metal dome. But even
the King James Version Bible, which uses “firmament,”
says in the margin, “expansion.” This is because the
Hebrew word ra·qi´a', translated “expanse,” means to
stretch out or spread out or expand.
The Genesis account says that God did it, but it does
not say how. In whatever way the described separation
occurred, it would look as though the ‘waters above’
had been pushed up from the earth. And birds could
later be said to fly in “the expanse of the heavens,”
as stated at Genesis 1:20.*
Now then, for the global flood it took 40 days of
constant rain. So seperating the expanse, is much more
than rainfall n'est pas?
It not an assumption of limiting God power to
acomplsih things, but if he created our universe, with
it unmutable physical laws, more likely he will abide
by them, which make an observer wonder, why we can not
see a supra natural event or have evidence of such for
determining creation by an intelligent being yet
creation by luck and chance as stipulated in the
theory of evolution, is accepted not based on evidence
but faith :-)

There is not any content moderation in T.O short of;
Spam is not allowed
Flooding is not allowed
Harmful Scripts or links to harmful scripts are not allowed
It is a text only newsgroup.
And these are the rules of Usenet and every ISP I know of.
T.O does restrict your right to crosspost however which is not "content

When you start your post with an out and out lie I don't know why anyone

I guess you missed the thread on News.Groups, where it was confirmed that
content moderation was indeed being practice, and it was the moderators
right to do as he pleased against the charter...

then ask Grieg about the ban on support groups

Jabriol, before you blather more lies, ***** and assininity on this
topic, you need to catch up on your previous moronic displays first.
Define and detail what the "colossal holes" are in the Theory of
Evolution. I have been waiting some considerable time to see you list
them, ever since you plagiarised Booker's article from two decades
ago.
Can you detail what these colossal holes are, or not? If you can,
then do so, right here in this thread, which I will monitor. If you
cannot, then admit that you are doing nothing but spreading lies with
your clueless posts on evolution.

Some of your arguments would be much more meaningful if you used the
original Hebrew rather than translations. You'll have lots of interpretive
sources and you won't have to quibble of words so much.

===>That is an attempt to get away from the truth.
In fact the description fits perfectly with the verse from
Job: 'Clouds are a hiding place for Him, so that He cannot see;
And He walks on the vault of heaven.' Job 22:14
One can just imagine YHWH's footsteps thundering through
the "vault of heaven".
ALSO SEE: Amos 9:6
"The One who builds His upper chambers in the heavens
And has founded His vaulted dome over the earth"
So, indeed, the cosmology describes a VAULT/VAULTED DOME
i.e. a FIRMAMENT, to which the tiny lights (stars) are affixed,
and which is the "storehouse" of the "waters above".
The dome has openings ("windows") through which YHWH lets down
some water occasionally, or lots of water when he wants to drown
all living creatures.
Genesis 7:11-12
....the windows of heaven were opened.
And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights.
Genesis 8:2
....the windows of heaven were stopped,
and the rain from heaven was restrained;
Deuteronomy 28:12
"The LORD will open for you His good storehouse,
the heavens, to give rain to your land."
So, how can you deny the Bible's writers did not have that
cosmology in mind?
