and your cat will not rest there.

Happened to me everytime until tonight.

I put her there on the top of a box with an old thick newish bushmans
shirt/jacket on top of a box for her to curl up on, and ....yes.... as
usual ... wouldn't settle down or accept the bed.

Huh....I have a cat that does the same thing.....

However, tonight, she did !!!

For the first time in my life !

If I look to my right, there she is licking and cleaning and purring
and happy curled up in the blue bushmans shirt.
(Who says it is not a bushwomans shirt)

I unpacked a box, and threw the wrapping paper on the floor. Right
behind my chair at the computer. She immediately plunked herself
down on it. I looked in amazement. I unraveled it, and now a 2 foot
square piece is her favorite place to lounge in the living room. It's
right
behind me....

When she plays and runs around the Condo like a nut. She hits that
paper and just drops on it......it's like a safe haven.....

I step on her tail sometimes, usually with bare feet.....

And a cushion I had to remove from a "Kitty Bed" I bought, that she
never stepped into. She nosed around at it, but never used it.

I removed the cushion and put it on the floor, to the left of the
paper.....

She uses that also.....

And in the bedroom, at the foot of the bed, no matter what kind
of clothing I put there.....she's uses it.....

And old summer jacket. I had to throw that out because she threw
up on it. Now there's an old foam bed pillow.

I just looked, and that's where she is.....

Crazy huh....what we do for our kitties....

Mine is an indoor cat. What about yours.....?

Hi Twonky !!

Used to be only indoors because another cat I had got hit by a car.

But these days from age 3
I let her out.

I always 'hated' cats. But....my neighbor, who lived next door to me in
an apartment building, she came home carrying a black & whte kitten. I
was just getting into my apartment. I asked her, "Where did you get that?"
She said it was abandoned.

She asked me if wanted want her. She said; "I named her Samantha." I
said, no.

I had a dog.....

She had a dog and a cat.......

Next day I got home and she was coming out of her apartment holding
Samantha. I asked where she was going. She replied, "To the pound,
they'll probably put her to sleep. Are you sure you don't want her." I
said;
"Give me the damn thing."

Well Samantha won my heart. Just a kitten, six months maybe. She and
my dog got along famoulsy, while Sam was growing...in stature......

I would take the dog to the parking lot and throw a ball around, and
Sammy would take the walk with us. Of course she went her own way
once we rahed the lot...

Blossom was a Collie, Russian wolf hound, mix.....very thin....fast at
running....

I was accused of abusing her by a guy who saw her outside of a fast food
place, "That dog is abused." I was buying myself a double cheese burger,
and Blossom a double plain burger. I said too him, "That's my dog, and she
isn't abused, I'm abused. I have to buy her a burger too."

I would get home, put it at her dish, she would remove the top piece of
the bun, and eat the meat....

She did that with dog food that had vegetables in it, She'd pick the
vegggies out and put them on the floor. Lots of cleaning up after her....

I digress.........
Samantha would wait on an end table, peering around the vertical door
'jam' looking across the kitchen, into the the bedroom. Waiting for
Blossom to come into the living room. When she saw the dog comin,g
she moved back and waited for Blossom to be at the right position, and
jumped on her back......

Bushwhacked her.

Blossom would just shake her off. And lay on the rug. Samantha would
lick Blossom's face, blossom liked that, and then Sam would sit back,
and pow! Right across the kisser. The dog just stayed put. I guess no
claws were eXtended.

Blossom looked at me with eyes that said; "Boy, is she a pain in the *****."

I'm thinking of getting a comapanion for her. But I don't know
how she would handle it. She's a big cat, and has killer claws....

And she eats only dry food. Won't touch canned food of any kind.

Most canned cat food is not so good anyway, I heard.

She got the flu about 10 months ago and I gave her rich red raw beef
to try to keep her from dieing. She slept near the heater for about
6-7 days and survived.

That's great. I wish I had kept Sammy at home when she was very very
sick. All bloated, and then she drained on her left side into her hind
leg.
Was eating very little with the help of medication, and defecating blood.
But she was still barely getting around. I had to use a towel to pick her
up. She didn't seem as though she was in pain....

I had her put to sleep, on the Vet's recommendation.

I didn't stay to see her die. Neither to watch my dog die, about 5 +/-
years before Sam....

I saw my cat die.
(the one that was run over by a car, or maybe kicked badly by someone.
The veterinary doctor wasn't 100% sure)

He came back in the early evening, limping.
Seemed not too bad.
But around 9:00pm started howling.
I didn't have the money to take him to a 24/7 vet.
(In those days there wasn't a 24/7 shop, let alone a 24/7 vet)
First thing in the morning we took him to the vet, and was told to
leave him there.
A day later he died.
We picked him up from the vet and burried him at a nice beach.

But she will eat Chester Chicken -skin removed and the meat chopped
up-, processed Turkey meat, and Pepperoni....

I bought a half a pound of fresh turkey meat, put some at her dish, she
sniffed at it and walked away....

She has me trained pretty well......

It is nice and interesting to read your posts that differ from your
usual Hashem posts.

P.s.....

I sleep on the sofa, and one other place she lounges and sleeps is on
top
of the right side cushion, of my sofa. Where my former cat always
lounged
and slept....

This one will attack my toes if I put my leg up there, and happen to
'touch'
her. My former cat, Samantha, would just give me a warning 'meow....'
Unlike Maya....
