There were "religious protesters" (phrasing courtesy of WINS-1010
radio) outside Heath Ledgers's apartment today, chanting "Heath's in
Hell", apparently because he portrayed a homosexual in "Brokeback
Mountain".
Uh, folks, he only played on in the fraskin' movie! It WASN'T REAL
LIFE!!!
That wasn't the Bibble-belt; that was in New York City. It makes me
sad.

Yeah, I know, but I would have gotten great satisfaction out of them getting
the crap beaten out of them by "persons unknown", leaving them with hospital

I heard a skeptical podcast interview a while back with Phelps' son
(Phelps senior had another commitment). Phelps Jr explained that they
take very seriously their instructions, from the bible, to preach the
gospel, particularly WRT the evil of homosexuality. That is, in fact,
what the bible does say (along with lots of other things). So, while I
think the Phelpses are assholes, and deserve every pounding they get, at
least they are logically consistent assholes, and are acting out of
commitment to their sincere beliefs. I find that more agreeable than the
lying scum who are trying to get Creationism into the public school
classrooms. Those people KNOW they are being dishonest, but do it anyway.

The LaClair incident was in Kearney, NJ. In the middle of the Greater
New York conurbation. 10 miles from downtown Manhattan.
