Has anyone ever seen this show? I woke up at 5 AM, and was channel surfing
and I came across it. Here is an actual line of dialogue from the show:
"If god didn't want gentlemen callers walking into ladies bedrooms without
knocking, he wouldn't have invented doors."
I think I'm becoming a fan. The plot in this episode involves some poor
little girl locked in a basement dungeon by her father for being bad, and I
can just tell god is going to send an angel to the rescue. Good old god. Too
bad the brother or the postal worker don't know how to call social services,
but maybe the angel will give them the number. Emmys for everybody!

Hold on a sec. They have atheist characters? How DID they treat them? Can
you give me an example?

I usually avoided watching it...but virtually every time I did, there would
be some character which is insinuated as an atheist, who was either the
villian or "the lost person" of the episode, who truly wanted to believe and
was saved and "awoke" by the end of the episode. All the strawman stuff we
get attacked for in here was put up at one time or another.

I don't recall ever seeing an actual "atheist" per se on the show, but I do
recall seeing characters for whom atheism was the implication. Like the one
with the Jew who had been in a concentration camp, and his neighbor (a guy with
a little 4 year old daughter) was dying and wanted him to take care of his
daughter after he died. The Jew in question was portrayed as a "non-believer",
but then you know such characters - on that show - are represented as, "Deep,
deep down in their heart of hearts, they know the Truth(TM)... They know..."
I think the show did much to make it seem like anyone who wasn't actively going
to church and such is the same thing as an atheist, i.e., they still believe,
they just aren't practising their religion at the moment. A rather typical
Christian misperception, it seems.

I've noticed that too. Anyway, I think I'm going to get the DVD's of this
show, watch them with my daughter and laugh our heads off. Maybe it will
become a cult classic. The only problem I would have is contributing money
to the show's producers, but I love comedy.

It ended in a "cliffhanger," I suppose you could say. At the end, a package had
arrived for him and when he opened it, a dove flew out. <wretch> Oh, gwad, I'm

You know, that's a _really_ good idea! I've often thought about how I might

study in an "know thy enemy" sort of way, but didn't want to actually support

TF that this has yet to get to the UK, or maybe it has, I don't have all the

godbleater-sycophantic "Highway to Heaven", but with laughs?
"Father Ted" was probably amongst the more amusing of the religious-based

heheheh...yeah, I'm always sooo 'reverent'.... ;)

If I could have anything I wanted at this very moment it would be to see
the chicken-bearing Knight from Monty Python swatting "angy hoohaw
warrior" over the head. Nothing like a little slapstick!

especially when he's using a hockey stick! (THWAP!)

I've really got to get around to picking up Monty Python flicks. I've
seen only one and that was "Life of Brian."

Oh, you *have* to see "Monty Python and the Holy Grail"!! One of my all
time favorite movies and one I need to see again soon. It's one of those
films where you find yourself doing quotes out of it and driving everyone
around you (unless they're also a fan and will join in) absolutely crazy.

see the chicken-bearing Knight from Monty Python swatting "angy
hoohaw warrior" over the head.

One of my
all time favorite movies and one I need to see again soon. It's one of
those films where you find yourself doing quotes out of it and driving
everyone around you (unless they're also a fan and will join in)
absolutely crazy.

"How do you know he's a king?"

"He hasn't got ***** all over him" :)

"Ooohh....Dennis! There's a lovely bit of filth over 'ere!"

"A spanking! A spanking! There's going to be a spanking tonight!"

"Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries!"

"Some call me...........................Tim" :)

Gotta watch it.

Abso-freaking-lutely :)

Now, go away or I'll taunt you a second time!
