Touching women: Not just for Christians any more |
Dentist Indicted: Two Counts Gross Sexual Imposition
http://www.wtol.com/Global/story.asp?S=4578076
According to Jerome Phillips, the attorney representing Dr. Shabbir
Hashim, two of the dentist's former employees have accused him of
inappropriately touching female patients while they were under
anesthesia. Phillips said the former employees said they were present
when the alleged inappropriate touching took place, but he also said
the charges are false.
Phillips said he has not yet seen the paperwork from the grand jury
indictment, so he's unable to provide specifics of the allegations. He
said Dr. Hashim does not know which former employees made the
allegations, but he thinks they may have been two short-term employees
-- one who worked for Dr. Hashim for just one week, and another who
worked for him for two weeks.
Phillips also said the incidents were alleged to have occurred in the
later part of 2005, but he does not know the specific date or dates
mentioned in the allegations.
Dr. Hashim will turn himself in to authorities, Phillips said. Although
the timing is not yet determined, Phillips expects a court date to be
set on Friday.
Phillips said Dr. Hashim has been in practice for many years, and in
all that time he has never had a problem. According to Phillips, Dr.
Hashim has some 4,000 patients.
Information on Dr. Hashim's Web site says that he grew up in Fremont,
Ohio. It also says he attended Kent State University, then continued
his education at Ohio State University, where he received his
bachelor's degree in 1984. After receiving his Doctor of Dental Surgery
in 1989 from the College of Dentistry at OSU, he completed two years in
post-doctorate training in Advanced General Dentistry Residency at the
University Hospitals and College of Dentistry at Ohio State University.
The site also says Dr. Hashim completed further training in Ambulatory
Anesthesia at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio, in 1992 -- and he
completed a mini-residency program in Implantology at Brookdale
Hospital in Brooklyn, New York, and New York University in 1993.
Dr. Hashim is well-known in local political circles. On July 19, 2005,
he attended a black-tie dinner at the White House. At the time, Dr.
Hashim told News 11 he had earned the "great honor" through his work in
Northwest Ohio during the fall of 2004, when he worked to get President
George W. Bush re-elected. Hashim said, "They acknowledge people who
work hard and are extending courtesies."
Hashim also said, "As an American Muslim, I want to be part of the
system, the political system. I also want to be visible, and for people
to know there are a lot of very loyal American Muslims in this country."

As an aside, a while back it was discovered that when some
patients are under anesthesia, they have vivid sexual
hallucinations, and think they were molested:

Former employees, on the other hand, have been known to
have vivid sexual hallucinations if they have been fired
and are intensely ***** at their ex-boss.
