Object: TQOTM nomination?
Ok, I'm not a notable name in this group, but this struck me as
hilarious:
Buried deep within an ongoing thread (Why There Isn't a God - Part
12), Duke uttered (in a reply to Tom):

Now I'm absolutely positive you don't know the first thing
about geology.

To which Tom replied:

We can always find out, can't we Puke? Say, did you ever read about
subduction? Even my sister knows about subduction.

And, here comes the kicker - Duke, trying to be clever, replied:

Of course, she taught you.

Heh.

Ok, perhaps I'm the only one who got a kick out of Duke's apparent
misinterpretation of the word "subduction." (I think he was thinking
'seduction.' and was therefore (wrongly) trying to implicate incest.)
Or am I just being stupid here? :)

No, I was employed at one time to locate geologic faults associated with oil and gas
exploration.

Heh, and what did you find?

Or am I just being stupid here? :)

Yes.

Ok, fair enough. If I goofed, I goofed. No big deal. I'll admit to
my mistakes when I make them.
But I still think that you confused the terms when you made that
reply, and I still find it humorous.
Furthermore, I'm also starting to understand why so many people reply
to your posts with obvious contempt.

Duke is the only human being in the universe who has been able to remain
in his presence for more than a few days and not understand that.
