train wreck syndrome |
If god exists, he is clearly suffering from what I call the "train wreck
syndrome".
Imagine an engineer operating a computer that controls railroad traffic.
Because of a malfunction, 2 trains are heading towards each other on the
same track. The engineer sees this error and can correct it with a simple
computer adjustment. However, he just sits there and does nothing while the
trains collide, killing hundreds of people. If such an event happened, the
engineer would surely be convicted of murder.
But this sort of thing happens several times a day every day all over the
world- floods, hurricanes, earthquakes, and plane crashes while "Jesus" sits
and watches. Not only does no one blame Jesus, but the thousands of
survivors actually gather in churches afterwards and give thanks and offer
prayers to the god who could have prevented the disaster in the first place.
I will never understand these people.
