I sometimes wonder if the source of protests about the strengthening
atheism comes from the clergy who have no other job skills, in the
same way I wonder if the loudest protests for decriminalizing
recreational drugs comes from the drug dealers themselves.

That was supposed to be my point. They are the last people who would
want drugs legalized, just as the clergy are the last people who want
to see atheism become popular. As in, forget all their bafflegab about
atheism being immoral, what they are really saying is "I fear for my
job," same as a drug dealer when the subject of legalization comes up.
