Two questions for "Blaise Pascal" |
These are questions for the frequent poster to
alt.atheism who changes his netname frequently,
posts copies of other people's works from elsewhere
on the net, and the few times he replies to responses
it is with streams of abuse ... currently going
by the netname "Blaise Pascal":
1) What is your goal in engaging in this behavior?
2) Do you think you are achieving that goal?
I'm curious.

He thinks that telling such obvious and childish lies about atheists damages
us. He has an image in his mind that we reel back in agony everytime he
trolls the place, like King Kong under attack from the airplanes!
It's a version of The Genisis Shuffle...he thinks if he repeats the same
lies often enough they magically become the truth!

Yes ... it's about as effective as the sound made by one hand clapping.
I stopped paying attention to people like "Blaise" a long time ago. They
either have a desperate need for attention or lead lives so empty they
must occupy the time with meaningless activity. Too sad.

it's prolly modern religious brainwashing. centuries ago, they used swords
to beat this jesus figure in your head, now those dark days are over, they
try it this way.
he's prolly gotta long list of mental disorders, maybe he's related to david
koresh or the likes. instead of being bugged, you should see the fun of it
abner. imo. atheism crusher is a kick ***** clown too. glad such backward
religious fundi's keep on insisting their fairy tale is true in
twothousandandfour.
just leave em be - their kind is about to go extinct. another 5 centuries of
quantum mechanics research and genetics will crush the whole stupid thing
called 'religion'.
religion is embraced by the stupid, rejected by the wise, and used by
political leaders. what strikes me most about it, is it's utter baroque
uselessness. it's the root of much evil, and those 'peaceful' religious
beings, who've been at war w/ each other defending their myth for over 2,000
years don't even have the IQ to see this.
keep on posting, blaise pascal and atheism crusher! you've got somekind of
'fan' here! LOL backward fucks!

If it is "one of us" - they are the Master. Or Mistress. Of, erm,
misrule... Or if not they're probably in need of a good deal of free
at the point of delivery medical care.
But I suppose an exhaustive google search could resolve the matter,
and I've been thinking of writing a program that does that, even if,
as near as I can figure, it'd take about 6 months to deliver a
verdict, and probably be wrong anyway.

No, not at all.
Back when he blazed in to "shut down" the newsgroup, I went Googling
around and his entire "point" appears to be disruptive and get attention.
He claimed at some point (as "Skywise") to have "shut down" a big foot ng
(of all places) and seemed quite proud of himself.
He attempted at one point in his little "campaign" to have the accounts of
regulars (including myself) canceled by filing bogus abuse complaints.
According to my provider at the time, he was altering posts of mine and
filing "complaints" under multiple identities. When they actually went and
looked, they saw quite clearly he was lying.
He tried this on more than of us but got nowhere. So he's shifted to his
latest tactic of spamming the newsgroup massively with materials he swipes
from websites and set up his little "anti-atheist" website also using
cribbed materials (and if he's not getting permission to use copyrighted
materials, it's going to backfire in time).
Apparently disrupting newsgroups makes him feel big and important. And as
we're one of the most active ngs of the alt.* hierarchy, it's moth to a
flame time. Whether he believes anything he posts or if he merely chooses
a position he thinks will cause the most consternation in a particular ng
is an open question.
If we were better "organized" (cats, herding, you know the drill <g>),
we'd mass plonk him and ignore him. I doubt he could stand that as he
feeds on the attention.
The only reason he has online access at all given what he does is he's
with Qwest/USWest whose "terms of service" are meaningless. Their only
"terms" are "did the check clear?" Makes you long for the days of the
Cabal (not that they existed of course) when a UDP meant something. Qwest
would find themselves cut off from Usenet entirely for harboring Usenet
abusers and spammers...

It's funny. While Blaise-the-Fearful hits and runs and thinks he's
overloading Alt.Atheism with overwhelming PROOF of... well... Um,
proof of something I suppose... he's actually spawning some good
discussions and re-confirming the Atheistic world view.
I find that the more I read and post arguements, the more knowledge

So, Blaze on, Blaize. . . our opinion of you can't sink much lower

While you're right about the practice you get for your debating skills,
that bit about "hurting" his "cause" is bogus. The whole point here is
that his cause is to make trouble, not convince us of any theistic crap.
He isn't hurting his cause at all; in fact it seems to be going along
quite well. His trolling is getting plenty of replies, after all.
I plonked him quite some time ago. He really isn't worth much practice.

No, not at all.
I was being tongue-in-cheek, I do genuinely believe that "Dr" Ambrosini is an
irritation, a bit like a troublesome haemorrhoid, and his actions are as you
say. As for his motives - attention-seeking probably.
Mass-plonking such an individual is difficult, as not only does he change
identities, he changes styles of posting as well, making it difficult to
killfile him.
Also the temptation to respond to his inanities is too great at times and my ire
is raised to the point that I have to respond for my own sanity - it doesn't
help the situation I know and I'm glad to see that I'm not the only regular
(newbies can be excused to a certain extent) who feels they have to reply to his
cretinous babblings.
