University Defends Teaching Students That "Whites Are Racist" |

She said included among the school's teaching resources was the
following: "A RACIST: A racist is one who is both privileged and
socialized on the basis of race by a white supremacist (racist)
system.
I wonder if the university ever heard of Zimbabwe, or Japan.

Maybe if you got your news from a news source, you'd know that the
original claim was *****. WingNutDaily isn't a reliable source.

Hmmm... This story is all over the web, but ALL the postings
ultimately reference the original WorldNutDaily article:

so you can bet it's either badly distorted or made up entirely.
I can't find this supposed document anywhere at the UD "Residence
Life Diversity Initiatives Program" website:
http://www.udel.edu/reslife/students/diversity.html
and the phrase "a racist is one" occurs *nowhere* in the udel.edu
domain. The first occurrence of the phrase "white supremacist"
on that domain is this article:

in which the university defended the First Amendment right of
a graduate student to hold white supremacist views.
So none of this stuff was ever "official" university policy.
Given the sloppy wording and absurd definition quoted above,
my guess would be that it was written by a student and never
reviewed (if it existed at all). That seems to be the sense
of the statement by the university, which, *contrary to the
article printed above*, has terminated the program, at least
until they clean things up:
