$18bn bid by Chinese for Unocal has US worried

Congressmen tell Bush deal could have disastrous effect on security

The Guardian
China yesterday made its most aggressive move yet to challenge US
dominance of the global energy market with an $18.5bn (=A310.1bn) bid by
state-run firm Cnooc for the American petrochemical company, Unocal.
The takeover attempt - by far the most ambitious in a recent wave of
overseas deals by Chinese corporations - is likely to raise political
hackles in Washington where senior policymakers are increasingly
expressing concern about the rising power of the world's most populous
nation.

Governments sometime regulate international business deals. In the PRC
there are many restrictions on companies doing business in China.
Anyone who criticizes the US must also criticize the PRC. They do the
same thing, and do it a lot more.

You don't understand. If the god damnned commie ch!nks are allowed to
pay for oil in an open market, free economy, it's going to wreck it for
the rest of us who rape and pilliage for oil.
Why don't they learn to do what the rest of the civilized world do?
Make up some WMD smack about somebody, dirty bomb them to heck with DU
munition, then truck in CNOOC to "rebuild" the oil industry "for
freedom and democracy". Wouldn't that be easier?
