Object: US Media Bias in the Aftermath of the 9/11 and Katrina Disasters
Some moron of a professor named Ward Churchill or something like that out
in Colorado sparked outrage all across America that continues to this day
by implying that the victims of 9/11 deserved their deaths and suffering,
due to US policies anent the Islamic countries, the good professor even
going so far as to call those who worked and died in the WTC "little
Eichmanns".
All well and good, and Professor Churchill should be fired for his
viciousness, which amounts to gross moral turpitude.
But how many of the Christian preachers and writers across the land who
described the deaths and suffering of 9/11 as deserved due to the
"sinfulness"-- insufficient allegiance to at least their brand of
Christianity-- of either NYC or America or both have been likewise
spotlighted by the US media for their viciousness?
And how many of those same preachers and writers are being spotlighted for
preaching and writing the same kind of thing about Katrina, New Orleans and
America, which they have been doing for the last two weeks?
It's the usual US media bias, alright.
A chilling right- wing morally- vacuous bias that gives a free ride to
American Christian viciousness in general, most of all in its knee- jerk
support of the American States' and the United States' carrying out of
Christian violence at the behest and on behalf of American Christians, in
the form of the "blue" and "vice" laws, Prohibition (including "local
option") and Drug War, "culture war" after "culture war", at home and
abroad, world without end, amen.
And First and Fourteenth Amendments be damned.
And all the while deploring the violence of Islam, of course.
--
And now the saints began their reign,
For which th' had yearned so long in vain,
And felt such bowel-hankerings,
To see an empire, all of kings,
Delivered from th' Egyptian awe
Of justice, government and law.
