U.S. seizes state prison health care |
While the families of our brave troops serving overseas are lacking
sufficient financial assistance, a judge has decided that California
finance an upgrade to the health care of convicted felons. I don't
advocate intentionally neglecting inmate health requirements but
instead of expecting the taxpayers to spend precious resources on
prison healthcare, maybe these convicts should think twice about
embracing prisons as a home away from home.

U.S. seizes state prison health care
Judge cites preventable deaths of inmates, 'depravity' of system
A federal judge, saying he was acting urgently to stop the needless
deaths of inmates because of medical malfeasance, ordered Thursday that
a receiver take control of California's prison health care system and
correct what he called deplorable conditions.
Experts said the order by U.S. District Judge Thelton Henderson of San
Francisco was unprecedented in its scope given that the prison system
provides health care to roughly 164,000 inmates at an annual cost of
$1.1 billion.

When I came to this country in 1992, you had luncheons for Death Row
inmates, mutiple lawsuits initiated by repeated and vicious cons, etc, etc.
believe me it's bad now, but it was even worse. Until early 90's it was not
just OK to be Gay, it was hugely popular and many showbiz personas declared
themselves to be Homos to boost popularity, yeah, so dont feel despair, I
even forwarded one of the deah row inmate "entertainment" to a small
newspaper and they printed it. Yeah, with my crooked English 13 years ago
they still understood utter disrespect to law-abiding citizens such
treatment of murderers indicates.
Yes someone about to die desreves last wish to be fullfilled, but come on...
not to the point of systematic entertainment of someone who killed a baby
