"...using Scripture to teach science is a 'plague on our society.'" |
From KWMU.org:
ST. LOUIS, MO (2006-02-20) The head of the Vatican's observatory said
yesterday that the fundamentalist Christian view of using Scripture to
teach science is a "plague on our society."
Father George Coyne made those comments to a group of science teachers
in St. Louis.
It was part of a session on evolution at the annual meeting of the
AAAS, the world's largest scientific society.
KWMUs Robert Frederick was the only reporter to speak with Father Coyne
afterwards. Coyne spoke of the distinctions between science and
Scripture.

If you go there you can here the whole interview. I'm not usually
complimentary toward the Catholic Church, but they deserve kudos for
this.

Nor am I, but I do give credit where due.
