Object: Vatican: condoms don't stop Aids
Abstinence is still the best policy, if you are in one of the risk
catagories. Can't catch anything if you aren't doing anything. It's by
far the most successful method of birth control; which is not such a
bad idea in Africa and parts of Asia. Healthier people, less people,
more food and less diseases to go around. That's a sound policy that
works and once again, the pontiff promotes life.

Vatican: condoms don't stop Aids
The Catholic Church is telling people in countries stricken by Aids not
to use condoms because they have tiny holes in them through which HIV
can pass - potentially exposing thousands of people to risk.
The church is making the claims across four continents despite a
widespread scientific consensus that condoms are impermeable to HIV.
A senior Vatican spokesman backs the claims about permeable condoms,
despite assurances by the World Health Organisation that they are
untrue.

A completey ridiculous analogy.

It's the "Obstinence Only" policies which are ridiculous and the
analogies only illustrate the ridiculous nature of those policies. But
please do elaborate on why you think the example is inappropriate,
presuming that you have the intellectual capacity to write more than a
single sentence, that is.

Please explain if you actually had to consult a dictionary and/or other
reference material before determining that the word "blind" implies
that one "can't see".

Bullet proof vests aren't perfect. By the "logic" of the "Obstinance
Only" crowd, all police and soldiers should abstain from wearing bullet
proof vests and other body armor. Instead they should just adopt the
"policy" of never getting show. Never getting shot works 100% of the
time so long as you are never hit by a bullet, but it sure doesn't do
much when a bullet actually does hit you.

They are a bunch of liers as always with fundies.
Even if condon could break, even if it had tiny holes, the probability
for this is much smaller than the condon being in good condition.
But thinking about abstinence, what is more probable to fail, our will
of abstinence or a condon to break?

So if a woman is told to have sex by her husband, she shouldn't bother
asking him to use a condom - because it "wouldn't do any good"? This is
how most women in Africa get AIDS. This policy of the church is killing
good wives and sometimes their children.
This clearly shows that the antichoice stance of the church is not
sympathy for the "little babies", the fetuses. It's fear that women
might have sex outside marriage and "get away with it". They are
willing to kill any number of people (even women and children who are
innocent of unapproved sex) if it discourages someone, somewhere, from
having sex and going unpunished.

Unless they use a condom every single time, it won't do any good.

Exactly. When you've got promiscuous men consorting with prostitutes the
situation is bad enough. If the women start sleeping around as well, it will
get a whole lot worse.

Ais is spread PRIMARILY in developing countries, where customs of marriage

Oh, heavens, Paul himself said that marriage is only for those
so weak of will that they can't keep it in their pants. Paul
wasn't worried about humans disappearing, because he knew
full well that Jesus is going to return Real Soon Now, and
thus the human race will have reached its culmination
anyhow.
How can you contradict St. Paul on this?
In any event marriage, as I have noted, does not

Yes - total abstinence would annihalate humnanity.

But that's not what we teach -

The Catholic Church DID teach JUST that in its earliest
days...of
course, it WAS expecting the Rapture to be just around the corner.

You know nothing.

So the early Church contradicted Saint Paul?

Paul quite clearly says that marriage is a second-rate choice
spiritually -- but if you simply CANNOT keep it in your pants,
then you may settle for marriage.

But abstinence was clearly the superior choice.

Marriage was elevated to a Sacrament. You say St. Paul said "Second
rate".
But he didn't, did he?

I paraphrased. Here's another (if dead) person's gloss on the original:

8 I say therefore to the unmarried and widows, it is good for them if
they abide even as I.

9 But if they cannot contain, let them marry: for it is better to
marry than to burn.

Thank you - it's not news to me. Marriage is still a sacrament.

But "it is good" not to do it, assuming you have the strength of character.

Ain't me what said that, it was Saint Paul.
And I intended the general "you", not the BAM-you.
Personally I have nothing against either marriage or
sex apart from marriage.

Really? tell me about marriage customs in Africa, Dr. Anthropology.

Of course, those people are mostly black and poor, so you

don't give a ***** about them. You're a sick puppy.

You want to prevent procreation or abort them.

You only want them to breed in order to provide cheap labor, so you
can afford to shop at Wal-Mart
