Vatican: condoms don't stop Aids |
Abstinence is still the best policy, if you are in one of the risk
catagories. Can't catch anything if you aren't doing anything. It's by
far the most successful method of birth control; which is not such a
bad idea in Africa and parts of Asia. Healthier people, less people,
more food and less diseases to go around. That's a sound policy that
works and once again, the pontiff promotes life.

Vatican: condoms don't stop Aids
The Catholic Church is telling people in countries stricken by Aids not
to use condoms because they have tiny holes in them through which HIV
can pass - potentially exposing thousands of people to risk.
The church is making the claims across four continents despite a
widespread scientific consensus that condoms are impermeable to HIV.
A senior Vatican spokesman backs the claims about permeable condoms,
despite assurances by the World Health Organisation that they are
untrue.

Susan
Superficially it seems like sexual morality is in chaos, with
widely
varying views about what does and does not consitute acceptable
behaviour.
Actually if you dig down you'll see that there is a fair amount
of
consensus. Episcopalians in favour of gay bishops talk a lot
about
"committed homosexual relationships" but no one else takes this
seriously. People talk about divorce being better for the kids
and
about loving step families, but it is rare for a stepfather to
put
a
step child through college (in the US), it is rare for the
stepchild
not to be bitter about not having two natural parents.
You might think that the exception is contraception. But liberal
activists threw condoms at a Catholic speaker once (I think the
debate was about abortion, can't remember).
. Act Up protestors tossed condoms about in New York City's St
Patrick's Cathedral partly because Archbishop John Cardinal
O'Connor
blocked non-hetero New Yorkers from marching in the St. Patrick's
Day
parade. During the protest, O'Connor became visibly enraged.
This is an implict admission that condoms degrade
the sexual act.
. Condoms degrade, but STDs are destroyers.
Only if the sole purpose is sex and your pleasure.
Carrying enough to not send the very best can be an act of love.

• The sentences: "Only if the sole purpose is sex and your pleasure.
Carrying enough to not send the very best can be an act of love." is
not
determinate.
LOL! I read that a couple of times and still don't know what he/she was
trying to say.
• Indeed. Perhaps some higher power will help us to decrypt it?
I find that my concernometer isn't registering at a high enough number. :c)

A person might fail in abstinence now and then. But once he puts on the

But this is a ridiculous argument. Any doctor will tell you the same

But then again, if a person is having illicit sex, the issue isn't so
much the sex but WHY they are - you'll find that those who feel the
need to have illicit sex seem to have some deep seated need that they
think they can fill by having sex with different people; the fact

of it.
Stop projecting your character flaws into everyone else.

Correct; one mans illicit sex is another mans prudishness.

Well, when I read 'illicit sex', I assumed, 'unprotected, promiscuous sex".

I was supposing he was refering to the definition "contrary to accepted
morality". That's begging the question as to whose morality is going to
be the yardstick (metre rule?).
From your example, how often do you need to have "unprotected,
promiscuous sex" and with how many people for it to be against accepted
morality? Is it once a year? 10 times/year?

Coming from a religious fanatic and fool, that's a hearty compliment
Don't you love America? Aren't you the least bit patriotic?
As America is a Christian nation, accept Christ and become
an American!
Isn't that amazing? If you want to join the greatest nation on
Earth, all you have to do is reward yourself with the everlasting
joys of Heaven!
Deny Satan. Deny Hell. Turn your back on an eternity of burning
in the fires of Hell and become an American.
Accept Christ.

I don't suppose it occurs to them that abstinence has a much higher
failure rate than any other method of AIDS prevention, for the simple
reason that people forget to use it!
A person might fail in abstinence now and then. But once he puts on the
rubber, he has no intention of ever stopping.
But this is a ridiculous argument. Any doctor will tell you the same
thing.
Condoms do not make illicit sex 100% safe.
When is you church going to admit that people have sex whatever the
church says?
Who are you to question or even care about Church teachings? You probably
don't even believe that Jesus rose from the dead.

What does people having sex have to do with someone rising from the dead??
Is there something about yourself that you're not telling us Bam? Little

I know this will give your brain a real tough workout, but the Church has
teachings about sex, and the Church has teachings about the Resurrection.
So why would someone expect you to agree with the Church on sexual matters,
when you don't even believe in Jesus Christ?
Get the point - numbskull?
