Hi there ...
Hello.
Thank you for reading this message .
This unasked for message? Guess again.
Did you here about Islam? I mean the real Islam...
Go away, child. This is an atheist website. If we
want to learn about your religion, we'll ask. We
didn't ask, therefore you have broken our rules
and gone against our FAQ.
GENERAL ALT.ATHEISM INFORMATION
1. All are welcome in this newsgroup whether they are
atheist or not, except if they are trolls or proselytizers.
You are a proselytizer.
2. Proselytizing of ANY religion is NOT welcome.
Those guilty of this bad nettiquette will be treated
as they deserve to be treated and they will be
reported to their ISP for repeated offenses.
Do not repeat your offense. You will be reported.
8. The Atheist Questions are a collection of questions
of interest to atheists and anyone curious about atheists.
One question is posted weekly in alt.atheism. 200
questions with 10-15 answers each can be found at:
http://questioner.www2.50megs.com
If you want to learn about atheism, feel free to ask.
You can also check out the Atheist Questions. But,
do not throw your religion in our faces. You will not
like the reaction.

Oh, I dunno...
How about these questions:
* What is the major cause for mental illness in the world?
* What is the main cause of sexual frustation?
* What is the most successful maladptive meme in all of history?
* What makes educated folk fly planes into skyscrapers?
Etc, etc.

I don't know if you have the same shows down under, but we have a game
show called "Jeopardy" where the host provides an answer and the
contestants are supposed to provide the question. "Religion" would be a
great one though I fear that not many here would get it.

Yes, we have had such a show since the 60s.
My school made me go to a "taping" of one, as the nerd sitting next to
me was a contestant.
And this was an Anglican school, one that did it's best to emulate the
worst of British Public schools, such as Eton.
(Esp wrt corporal punishment and bullying)
I doubt that such a response would have enabled the contestant mopre
than 7.33 minutes more of life, as the Canon who was our/my headmaster
was in the studio at the time...

Religions provide no answers.
"Religion" would be
a
great one though I fear that not many here would get it.
Yep. Reminds me of Catholic elementary school with the nuns.
I doubt that such a response would have enabled the contestant mopre
than 7.33 minutes more of life, as the Canon who was our/my headmaster
was in the studio at the time...
Take him that long to get the stake and the kindling?
He had to take a deep swig of the holy accelerant first.
Aha! The holy spirits!
"Jeebers' blood", if you don't mind!
Golly Gallilee!
No wonder he could be a water Walker!
"Johnny Walker" perhaps?
I took many a 'walk' with Johnny in my younger days, when I imbibed and
could afford it.

Oh, they provide answers -- some of them sounding very satisfying to
their customers. But the question that almost invariably fails to get
asked by those customers is "do these answers coincide with reality?"
This is where religious answers fail, because in too many cases, the
answer there is "no."
