Depends on your definition of "sick."
I'm just feeling the effects of age. Doc says I need to stop drinking,
start eating less, exercise more and refrain from rough sex. My partner
was not happy to hear that last one, so I opted for two out of four
(still drink a bit, I'm afraid). I DID stop smoking and never felt
better. The ol' liver is giving me fits but it's not from the drink.
It's called NASH, for "non-alcoholic steatohepatitis." basically, I've
got foie gras for a liver but it won't kill me for another decade or
two or three (they're not sure, and they can't fix it).
Other than that and the fact that I could use an extra forty thousand
dollars or so, I'm doing fine.
