Is that a stupid question to ask a mentally ill person? I mean, if I
were paranoid, I would actually believe those thoughts of people trying
to harm me, etc., so I wouldn't know if I were paranoid? Or am I the
stupid one?
Also, she asks "Do you hear voices?" Okay, if I heard voices wouldn't
I believe that what I am hearing is real? And therefore I would be
answering "No, I don't."??

You don't. You're an atheist, and so is he.

A few months ago, my friend mentioned that she was raped the year
before. I didn't push the issue and told her if she ever wants to talk
about it, I'm here for her. She never brought the issue up again.
She has been seeing a new therapist for a month now. My friend has been
having flashbacks about her rape and her therapist wants her to relive
it and learn a way to move on (blocking it out hasn't helped her). Her
therapist believes that if she unblocks certain parts of it, she can
finally heal.
My friend will be going through a very rough time after she relives it.
She is going to call me at anytime, (even 3am) if she needs to talk to
somebody. The thing is, I don't know what to say or how to help her. I
definately want to be there for her and let her have someone to talk
to. But, how do I respond? I was never raped and I never dealt with
this issue before w/someone.
Please help. I want to help support my friend
