Object: Way OT: Gas For Less LOL
Highest gas price reported in the SF bay area: a station called:
Gas For Less, Half Moon Bay,
on Fri 10:58 AM ,
$3.39/gallon...!
48 cents/gal more than the lowest price reported in the bay area, and
at least 24 cents/gal more expensive than any of the 4 other HMB
stations reported.
Gas for Less??? Less what? Less intelligent people?
http://www.sanfrangasprices.com/
My lingering question; why do I always see people gassing up at a
station across the street from a cheaper one?

Shell offers 5% cash back for gas purchases when using a shell visa
card. 5% of $3.00 = 15 cents, so, If the cheapest gas is less than 15
cents per gallon cheaper than Shell, you are actually getting a better
deal - that is if you pay off the tab in full before getting hit with
card charges.

THat's the gamble that pays Shell to do it. Discounts for the less
intelligent = more profits. But thanks, that's a point.

Gas card. Airline miles. Mini-mart makes a good cuppa. Too hard to make
a U-turn. Clean bathrooms. Shorter lines. Mexican gas will ***** up your
engine. Any number of other reasons. These are some that I've used.

I've thought they might be using a company card; a company they do not
have an ownership position in. That is me being charitable. All the
rest are, IMO, not worth it, if we were able to look at the numbers.

Highest price I saw last week on the New York Thruway was $3.72. I
bypassed that plaza and went to the next plaza that was selling at
$3.33.

The grocery store I frequent gives 10¢ a gallon discount for every $50
of grocery purchases if you purchase the gas at their gas station.
This discount accumulates until you use it or within 3 months of the
purchase, whichever comes first, so if I have accumulated $1.20
dicount per gallon that is going to expire in a few days and the gas
is a few cents lower across the street, I'm still going to fill up at
the Get Go.
Gas in Akron, OH ranges from $2.79 to an amazing $3.32 this morning
with the station where I get the discount at $2.85.
