Object: What are you doing with your holiday?
Since We are both pretty much out of relatives, we have a pretty
solitary holiday.
On the 24th we go to the casino for an INCREDIBLE dinner.
And on the 25th we sit around in our nightshirts and watch four
different variations of "A christmas carol" this year with both
futurama xmas specials as the added cartoon.
Hou about you? Any standard tradtions? Old or now?

You can't expect a Christian to show honesty, compassion, or empathy.

(wince) They won't change Tak. Showing up at their door and such is
empowering them. *They* are in the 'control seat' and will remain
there metaphorically twisting the knife with glee.
The only possible avenue I'm aware of to change the situation is to,
other than sending postal address change card, cut off all contact
with them.
The postal address change card 'keeps the door ajar.' They'll
probably never open it or step through. Such is their loss, not
yours.
The best and healthiest thing you can do, imo, is be the best Tak you
can be. From what I recall from before you were very much a people
person. I'm not aware of any reason for you to change that. Your
body has changed, yes, but you remain the same person.
Such is difficult, yes. However, imo, it is a 'sunny day walk in the
park' compared to your decision and surgical follow through. Cut the
'deadwood' and press on-head high.
Best wishes.

No real traditions, just had Diane's youngest boy drop by. I was talking with
him and he noticed the stack of books I had by my desk, a whole bunch of Eric
Flint's 1632, he asked me if I liked the series, I said yes. Asked him if he
had read any of them, yep, he had read one. I found out that one he had not
gotten was "Ring of Fire," so I gave him the extra hard-back copy I had
bought by accident last week (I had forgotten just which one I had not gotten
yet, oops. ;-) He thought that was a great gift. So did I, much better than
giving him $30 or so. He is always a pain to buy for, like us he has more
books than he can remember, so I never know what books he would like but
consider a book a far more personal gift than just cash.
So I am old-fashioned, sue me. ;-)

Last night (24th) we watched _Tokyo Godfathers_ which, I think, will become
a tradition. (This is one of my favorite movies. Go to http://us.imdb.com/
for details. Not suitable for closed minded jerks or very young children.
Otherwise, seasonal, clever, and sentimental without being cheesy.)
Today we will have beef tenderloin and garlic mashed potatoes (with the potatoes
and garlic both home grown).
Will phone my brother and his family later today (which is where my mother is this
year).

The only tradition my son and I observe is the "driving around and
eating at each house" one. I'll drive to my ex's to snack and open
presents with them. Then my son and I will drive to Gramma and
Grandad's to open more presents and have more snacks. Then the four of
us, with my two brothers and their families, will drive to my sister's
to have lunch and play with their new toys. Then we'll drive to her
in-laws and have supper, and my son and my sister's father-in-law will
play with model trains for a few hours. It's not a bad way to spend
the day.

The multiplex Cinema across the valley had its car park full last
night. It would be full today if they were allowed to open. The golf

stops them.

Nothing special. Like always, my girlfriend goes out of town to see her
mother and childhood friends, while I see mine on the 25th. We are both

So it's very quiet, to say the least.
