What's God Doing About Those Alcoholic Theists? |
Craig Hildreth at http://scienceblogs.com/thecheerfuloncologist/ lists
the disturbing figures: "More than 30 percent of American adults have
abused alcohol or suffered from alcoholism at some point in their
lives, and few have received treatment, according to a new government
study."
http://tinyurl.com/yqf5de
Now given that 90% of the USA believes in a god, and 80% accepts Jesus
as the son of this god, this makes for some interesting math. Even if
you write off that other 10% as worthless ne-er-do-well atheists, and
assert that they're all alcoholics, that still leaves two thirds of
the alcoholic population unassigned.
At least one third has to accept Jesus and the entire two thirds has
to believe in a god - at a minimum!
So what's *their* problem and what's this god of theirs doing about
it, exactly? And best of all, why are twice as many of the theists
afflicted as are atheists, even pretending for a minute that the
***** 10% assignation up above were true?
I guess this god must be pretty darned worthless after all.

Well I'm glad it sailed over my head - I don't want anything that's
even remotely deemed appropriate by Duck & Run to be connected to me.
