Of course, the real reasons behind your resentment are more than obvious.
Here we have, in Rice, a marvelously successful, powerful black lady who
doesn't owe her success to some BS, jury-rigged lib social program. Nope,
no set-asides, quotas, preferences or any of the other *help* that our
little brown brothers depend upon to succeed. Oh the agony. She did it all
on her own and doesn't have too thank you, her lib benefactors for her
accomplishments. She isn't dependant on you moronic social manipulation and
exploitation. How you must hate her.

directors of a major oil company when she had *Zero*
qualifications?
If you or I tried to get a job with her qualifications we'd
be lucky to land a middle-management position, yet this
woman was handed a job on the board of directors.
"No experience necessary."
What it looks like to the rest of the world -- apart from
neo-con Bushbots who have their heads shoved firmly
up Bush's ***** -- is that her "Success" is attributed directly
to her political connections. She needed cash (and a reason
to feel grateful towards rich & powerful business interests),
as well as some resume building. They pulled some strings
and founder her a "starting position" on the board of directors.
Heck, the woman even had an oil tanker named for her.
Her story is less than unusual. Halliburton was ***** Cheney's
first full-time, private sector job since college. His "Starting
Position" was CEO.
As a result, his adjusted, gross income in 2000 -- all from
Halliburton -- was over $30 million.
He built a 20,000+ square-foot home.... more than 10 times
the size of the average American home.
Their success is no mystery at all. It's called "Corruption."

I do think minorities can (and do) succeed on their own merits, but Rice
isn't a helpful example of what the average minority should be able to
achieve if they work at it. By most accounts, she is an extraordinary
talent, intellectually and musically. The question then becomes, would
a white male have to be as talented to be Secretary of State? What kind
of needless impediments did she face on the way that someone who wasn't
a minority wouldn't have faced?

Here, here. I wish that she would replace Cheney as the Veep on the current
ticket. The Repubs have started referring to Jeb as 44. I think that Condi
would be a much better choice.
