While screening an episode of "Watch Mr. Wizard" on DVD, Don
Herbert talked about being the most famous unaccredited scientist
in America in the 1950's.
The rpemise for that show would't fly today i think. He was
specifically the 'neighborhood science guy who had the kids come
over to his house for fun experiments.' Mr. Ashcroft wouldn't
approve...
I like Bill Nye, the science guy
Before Bill Nye there was a show with a character actor who answered
kids questions. The set was very involved with props to demonstrate
the answers. He has two assistants, on a guy in a rat suitnamed The
Guy in the Rat Suit. What was that show?
Beakman's World. Kind of a Mr Wizard on acid.
Thank you, and right you are about the acid, that was a fun show.
