When you understand... |
When you understand someone fully, and they understand you fully, the
two of you enter into a covenant of trust.
Although you do not fully understand god, you must trust in him. GOD
is who you trust! So it doesn't matter if you don't understand god
and you're always asking "why or when or where", you TRUST in god!!
That's all there is to it and your reward will come to you, through
faith and perseverance.

Someone once told me to not try to reason with creationist/close-minded
whackos (or *most* women for that matter). And I think I understand why.
This post is a perfect example. I believe everyone is entitled to their
opinion, whether it be based on fact, logic, prejudice, mythology or any
combination of those or things I failed to mention. I won't necessarily
respect your opinion but you are entitled. HOWEVER, if you're making an
argument, which it sounds like you are, or are trying to do, you must
SUPPORT your claims.
You open with:
"When you understand someone fully, and they understand you fully, the
two of you enter into a covenant of trust. "
This statement is completely meaningless and pointless in the context of
your post. You follow it up by saying:
"Although you do not fully understand god, you must trust in him. "
Statement two does not logically follow from statement one. In statement
one you say two people need to understand each other fully to trust each
other (which sounds like ***** on its own merit). But in the next
statement you say you don't need to understand god. (But I may need to
understand WHY i don't need to understand god). If you added a sentence
such as, "God is a special case though. Although you do not fully understand
god...." this would make sense. See what I'm getting at?
Next statement:
"GOD is who you trust!"
Okay why? .........Yea yea yea, I saw the next sentence, calm down.
"So it doesn't matter if you don't understand god and you're always asking
"why or when or where", you TRUST in god!!"
This sounds like a conclusion, except you haven't explained anything. And,
by repeating at the end, "you TRUST in god!!" (note: 2 exclamation marks)
gives this statement that whole, "because I said so!" feel. Newsflash that
reasoning works on kids when they do ***** like:
'Why is the sky blue?'
'Because of the refraction of light and dust'
'Why?'
'Because when light hits the atmosphere at a certain angle it acts as a....'
'Why?'
'Because physics says.....'
'Why?' 'Why?' 'Why?' 'Why?' 'Why?'
That's why religion has to be pounded into your head when your 5, when you
don't have the ability to question things objectively. When Santa Claus,
the tooth Fairy, and the Easter Bunny, seem real, you don't know any better.
Jesus Christ get a clue. Act like an intelligent human being, use your
brain, understand the bible is a fantastical work of myth and magic on the
order of the LOTR trilogy. Life isn't so scary when you realize there is no
god. It explains a lot, and it forces you to come to terms with the fact
that time is limited, make the best use of it.
Besides, if you're gonna unleash your worthless tripe here you may as well
earn points with the atheists by trying to earn some respect by making your
"arguments" follow a logical line of reasoning. Or make sense.

Yes Mr. Payne, that is exactly what I thought when I heard it on some
xian tv network. I watch them sometimes just to see if they use
reason, turns out that they never do. How is it that people who use
such absurd arguments can persuade people to send money to them?
How can people be so ignorant these days, do they suffer from
delusion?
I hate to think people are that stupid, surely they are not listening
closely to what these leaders of the faith are saying. How could one
not say to himself "*****" when he hears it?
This was posted without explanation to get a real reaction to the
statement.
The opener was to make the audience register "covenant of trust" in
association with "don't question, be patient and trust, your reward
will come, if only when you die". Cultic brainwashing should be
illegal.
