Why are Atheists such angry people? |
Holy Sh*t!, If ever you want to see people express their rage and
frustrations online, visit an atheist newsgroup. What are these people
always so angry about? If someone posts anything that doesn't support
or endorse the atheistic point of view, "Watch out!!" What frustrates
them the most is rational points-of-view that doesn't insult or degrade
anyone. It's understandable to be angry if someone starts name-calling
or insulting one's integrity; what's not understandable is when
atheists revert to that exact type of behavior in responce to opinions
of social or political events that disprove their own theories. When I
see "TROLL, TROLL!!!" followed by <PLONK, PLONK>, I know I've won my
argument.

Holy Sh*t!
Why are Christians such angry people?
Because they aren't able to force their dismal mythology
on the entire world. The fundamentalist ones, that is.
They resent that the rest of the world refuses to live
under the kind of psychological torture that they do.
They don't understand that they don't have to live in
constant terror all the time and in their fear and anger
want everyone to suffer as they do. They know that all
their blather about wanting to save peoples' souls is
just a load of lies. All their fundy religion teaches them
is fear and hatred, and they want to drag everyone
down to their pitiful level. They also know that most
of their conversion efforts will end in failure. That
makes them even angrier. And what is it that these
fundamentalist Christians fear so much that it drives
many of them insane - something that doesn't even
exist but that their church uses to keep them totally
mentally enslaved - hell and eternal torture. If only
they could understand that the real hell is their
horrifying religion. And, the real devils are their
ministers.

Actually, what you're seeing is parenting at its best. The "Trolls" and
"plonks" are akin to a good mother or father saying "there, there" when
their energetic child is spouting off about Santa Claus and the Easter
Bunny in a crowded mall.
Now, run along and go play outside with your fundie friends. Maybe your
Jesus will leave you a nice gift on your pillow when you come back?
Perhaps a lifetime of mindless servitude or an overwhelming desire to
judge others while believing that the world is only 6,000 years old?

Cometh the hour, cometh "J Young" <youngopinions@aol.com>
who, with imperceptibly subtle footwork in alt.atheism, gave us this:
When I
see "TROLL, TROLL!!!" followed by <PLONK, PLONK>, I know I've won my
argument.
Some facts, dickbrain:
1) You are pathetically stupid
2) I don't have a killfile, and most of us in alt.atheism obviously
don't have you in theirs.
3) You have never, ever posted your own thoughts or annotations with
the screeds of hysterical nonsense you tend to post here
4) If you are trying to infer that people's reactions to the screeds
of hate filled, bigoted Christian filth (please excuse the multiple
tautology, I left the redundancies in for emphasis) you post here
justify your arguments when you haven't even got any of your own, then
that just goes to prove that you are running away from any debate.

You?

Reaction to postings of political stuff does not ellicit an "atheistic

"centrists" or left-of-center, there are a few right-wingers like Duke
Stone and Fred Duke, to name one. (Just kidding...)
What frustrates

You sometimes post stuff just to get gut reactions, or so it seems.
That's called "trolling". As for "plonking", I never really plonked
anyone. And being "plonked" is in no way, shape or form a "win" for
"your" argument ("your" is in quotes because you mostly post other
people's arguments.)

Most religions require something a brain-dead atheist doesn't have:
higher brain function. You, OTOH, have to be told "facts" about
everything
in order for it to be processed. So tell me the "facts" of your
existence (you do believe you exist don't you?). You can go all
the way back to the beginning, back when t = 0, with "t" being the
age of the universe. (This could be fun.) I know I'm getting
way over your head, but hey, I've got a few minutes. You live
in a universe we are so ignorant about, that nobody can prove
even whether it is open, or closed. Many in the astrophysics community
still can't see how we (including the entire cosmos) even exist at
all. Your whole shitty life is based mostly on unknowns, not the
"facts" that you claim to live by. Yet atheists have the amusing
quality of arrogance, combined with ignorance. I can understand
agnosticism for some, but atheists have ***** for brains. A lot
of you can't even read at a 5th grade level apparently.
My wife and I celebrate our 19th wedding anniversery tonight, and
September 9th will be the 27th anniversery of our first date. That first
date was at a beach party that continues every summer since. Over half
the people who attend are atheists. Don't you hate it when facts spoil a
good story? No? I guess practice helps you ignore facts.
A good story is perhaps all it is; I have no way of knowing. Even if
true, a lot of people go through decades of bad marriage. Do you want
a medal? Year-counting doesn't necessarily mean much. BTW, I've
been happily married for over 26 years.
Never met her. I've read some of her writings. Have you?
No. I've seen interviews with her, which was quite enough.
She was a one-verse singer, and the tune wasn't too pretty.
No? Afraid of more facts?
The one fact that sticks in my mind is that she's now resting
in pieces, courtesy of an associate of hers. How beautifully
fitting!
*****'s getting deap here. Sounds like a personal remminicence to me.
It would.
How long have you been carrying this resentment around?
Dream on. I was the kid who _always_ got the invites...was
a Donny Osmond-esq look-alike at the time...the little girlies
loved me!!
What beliefs?
That God is dead.
Do you pay insurance for a car you don't own? I don't
think beliefs I don't hold are important.
I suspect you all come up with little quips like this when you
get together to plan your--imaginary--battle against the evil
Christians.
Chased the Mormons away two weeks ago.
Unnecessary. They wouldn't have wanted you after 15 seconds
of being so close.
Naw. We like seeing *you* squirm when you have to defend such tripe as
"vitally important to the history of America" whiule at the same time
claiming that "it's not a religious statement because it's been used so
much and for so long."
Huh? You're just blowing stuff out your ***** left and right here.
Well, if you weren't so thick, we could explain a fact to you and then
move on. But you are, so we must.
No, it's called being in dire need of some new material.
Private property, no problem.
So does this mean you actually like _It's a Wonderful Life_ and the
Christmas Tree at Rockefeller Center? Most cities in America still
put up Christmas decorations all along the public streets and roads.
So much for your private property claim...Maybe you should tell NBC
not to broadcast the movie over the public airwaves this year.
Are you always this stupid, or are you in
trainning for the Olymics? I don't think "Stupidity" is an event.
I'm dumbstruck, you're a comic genius! (I'd hold off on that
Tonight Show audition.)
From Christians like you, this is the "love" we've come to expect.
Why should anybody love a pile of ignorant horseshit?

Most religions require something a brain-dead atheist doesn't have:
higher brain function. You, OTOH, have to be told "facts" about
everything
in order for it to be processed. So tell me the "facts" of your
existence (you do believe you exist don't you?). You can go all
the way back to the beginning, back when t = 0, with "t" being the
age of the universe. (This could be fun.) I know I'm getting
way over your head, but hey, I've got a few minutes. You live
in a universe we are so ignorant about, that nobody can prove
even whether it is open, or closed. Many in the astrophysics
community still can't see how we (including the entire cosmos) even
exist at all. Your whole shitty life is based mostly on unknowns, not
the "facts" that you claim to live by. Yet atheists have the amusing
quality of arrogance, combined with ignorance. I can understand
agnosticism for some, but atheists have ***** for brains. A lot
of you can't even read at a 5th grade level apparently.
So, because we you don't know a lot, you know God exists. Pretty solid
argument from ignorance there, Skippy!

What a hypocrite. The little atheist puts up a Christmas Tree every
year!
What do you decorate it with?
It's a "Yule Tree".
[quote]
Origins of the Christmas Tree:
o Pagan traditions: Many Pagan cultures used to cut down evergreen trees
in December, moved them into the home or temple and decorated them. 7
Modern-day Pagans still do. This was to recognize the winter solstice --
the time of the year that had the shortest daylight hours, and longest
night of the year. This occurs annually sometime between DEC-20 to 23.
They noticed that the days were gradually getting shorter; many feared
that the sun would eventually disappear forever, and everyone would
freeze. But, even though deciduous trees, bushes, and crops died or
hibernated for the winter, the evergreen trees remained green. They
seemed to have magical powers that enabled them to withstand the rigors
of winter.
o Not having evergreen trees, the ancient Egyptians considered the palm
tree to symbolize resurrection. They decorated their homes with its
branches during the winter solstice. 3
o "The first decorating of an evergreen tree began with the heathen
Greeks and their worship of their god Adonia, who allegedly was brought
back to life by the serpent Aessulapius after having been slain."
o The ancient Pagan Romans decorated their "trees with bits of metal and
replicas of their god, Bacchus [a fertility god]. They also placed 12
candles on the tree in honor of their sun god" 2 Their mid-winter
festival of Saturnalia started on DEC-17 and often lasted until a few
days after the Solstice.
o In Northern Europe, the ancient Druids tied fruit and attached candles
to evergreen tree branches, in honor of their god Woden. Trees were
viewed as symbolizing eternal life. This is the deity after which
Wednesday was named. The trees joined holly, mistletoe, the wassail bowl
and the Yule log as symbols of the season. All predated Christianity.

It was a serious question.
I can believe that.
You believe things higgledy-piggledy, with no regard for their truth.
